Iphone 4S or Galaxy S2

I think it might have just been that guys phone.

This seems much better.

You still get some shimmering when the bloke walks in front of the camera, it does point to the phone not being able to process moving objects to well.

Wa sthe video a composite of both phones? If so then it's probably due to the processing and stitching rather than original feature.

Potentially, but why is the SGS2 not affected? They both record at 30fps afaik

95% of this thread is utter crap. Reason being, no one can say which of these phones will be best for you. You need to try them and make up your own mind.

I've got both of then now and laugh at some of the comments made on this thread.

Go try them out and pick the one that works best for you.

What I will say is, Android has evolved a lot, up until the SGS2 I would have said you had to root the phones as they were all laggy. With the SGS2 you don't as it isn't and works very well.

If I was you,I would wait til details of the Prime have been announced as they may change your decision to iPhone or Prime.

It actually hasn't been full on fanboism like usual for this kind of iphone vs the world thread.
Some good info and as has been said the main point is, if you can wait, then wait for the nexus prime and android 4.0 to see what it brings. Then go have a play with them in a shop and see what you think.

It will likely be a step up from the Galaxy S II - especially in terms of display PPI

If what I have read is true, that won't really be the case.

It's apparently going to be SAMOLED HD, which whilst having more pixels, will use the pentile layout like the SGS, giving it an effective PPI almost identical to the SGS2's screen.

SAMOLED HD + is what you really want to wait for :D

Not sure if anyones seen but according to a few tech gadget websites the 4S holds 512mb RAM am i correct in assuming this is simply due to IOS being well optimized and not requiring anymore then that?

I believe it has 512MB. Which is fairly low however it's only a number, I can't see the OS needing much more than that as it's very quick and well optimised anyway. My iPad 2 breezes through everything and that only has 512MB.

1GB would have been nice but Apple will never upgrade something for the sake of it.

Ahh fair enough i thought that would be the case wonder what the minimum specs is required for both android and IOS im pretty sure android needs higher

If your buying the samsung galaxy are you better off buying it unlocked or tied to a network?e.g vodafone?its nearly 600 euro unlocked over here in ireland but much cheaper if brought with o2,519 euro and even cheaper again with vodafone,479 euro.

I do believe it can be unlocked for free so you might as well just get the cheapest one. It would still work out cheaper even if you paid for it to be unlocked.

If you are a bit of a klutz you might want to check this out. Drop tests of both phones in question.

Must be fake... iPhones are protected by a nostalgia aura remember. Also they are the best phone on the market... they can't break that easy.

signed, a proud S2 owner.

^ Yeah, it's the exposed sides on front panel and no.1 reason I don't own a 4/4S.
Wish they'd hurry up with that aluminium chassis (waterproof would be nice too, it's brilliant sticking your phone under a tap for a good clean :))

I have never quite understood the huge number of videos that people put out of the iphone getting dropped to see if it breaks. It definitely does and when it doesn't, try again and it probably will. Its not really a mark of the phones quality, merely its design. Don't drop it or make sure its insured.
