I am looking for a case for my iphone and have seen there are a few. Some just like bags and some actual cases.

Dry CASE DC13
Life proof

iDry - looks bulky
Amphibian Waterproof Hard - apparently cant make calls or hear (useful!)
iLoc Phone Case - Cheap, looks like it works well

Out of these the Life proof is tempting me the most. Fully waterproof, shock proof, not too bulky and not just a zip lock bag

non of them will work inside the waterproof case anyway... the mic on your phone will sound like your speaking while holding a newspaper over your face

How do you know this. I read one of them its perfectly easy to talk with with case on (and the speaker is heard working in a video some has posted on youtue)

I use an aquapac case to keep my phone and/or car keys in when I'm kayaking. I'm not sure about shock proof but it certainly keeps the water out! The touch screen works through them, not sure about calling someone though.

I have the same one, when I'm in the lakes I only take it out to charge it - can talk / touch perfectly.

Would it be able to withstand knocks when skiing and general drops?

My phone is in an Otterbox impact case. Would probably be ok to drop but would like to with a new phone really! (unless the case guaranteed it would not break from a small drop)

stick your phone inside a ziplock bag and try recording your voice and playing it back

Me too, does the job fine and I've never had a problem with water ingress or people not hearing me.
