Light bulbs : Phillips, Osram, Bosch or Halfords?

ONE Halfrauds bulb costs more than *ALL* much better brands. I went in there after some bulbs because i wanted them ASAP, but i wasnt willing to pay £35 for crappy halfords ones when you can get osrams for £12 on ebay!

I tried some of these uber bright bulbs - some improvement in night visability but didn't like the life span (lack of) so I'm now using generic H7 bulbs from The Bay which work under less than a quid each...

Nothing can beat PIAA Platinum Series Super White's, however that's prob why their like £78 a set XD

Had a pair of halfords extreme brilliance or whatever they are called, one died after about a month of use, maybe 3 hours total usage time, i put one of my old ones back in, after around another 2 months the other halfords one died, maybe 7hours total usage on that bulb. Replaced with philips bulbs, cant remember model but cost £19.99 for two and they have been going strong now for 7+months!

Took the bulbs that broke back to halfords and was basically told to F-Off and they blamed it on my cars electrics! will stay well clear of halfords brands from now on!

Just ordered some osram nightbreaker plus from ebay for half what i'd have got equivelent from halfords. However, on doing that, i've had a little look under my bonnet and i've yet to figure out how to fit the damn things!

Anyone know how to change a 2007 A6's headlight bulbs? LOL

Hi there

I've recently fitted Phillips X-treme vision H4 headlamp bulbs to my ZS as the bulbs on the car when i bought it seemed a little too Halfrauds Blue to me and I didn't think they'd pass an MOT. It's far to early to say how long they'll last as they've only been on my car a few weeks but to be honest I don't really notice that much difference at night time with these new bulbs when compared to my OH's car with factory fitted standard bulbs.

Morrisons petrol station ones as they seem to be the cheapest place out and about whenever I need one asap!
