Gilad Shalit to be exchanged for 1026 prisoners

What analysis might that be? Don't you think you should mention a source when making such an important comment? I could summise as to why you failed to mention the source, but I'll wait for your answer first.

Sorry, I meant to say it was on Radio 4 Today Programme. I didn't catch who it was saying it, some expert.

I don't accept that you can go from trying to undermine Abbas to therefore being intent on conflict.

It's not just undermining Abbas though is it, it's promoting Hamas - making them appear strong, getting results - to the Palestinian people.

Perhaps it's a bit of reverse psychology from Israel?

Making them look like the 'loser' in this deal, and making the Palestinians feel like they've gained a victory?

Well it is primarily the undermining of Abbas that's important to them, as the more Hamas gain sympathy the less likely Palestine is to be allowed to join the UN (lol), meaning the less likely Israel is to be hoisted by some retarded UN resolution. But that still doesn't mean they want to fight a conflict forever and ever.

Israel isn't to worried about releasing that many prisoners, as most will be sent to Gaza, which is basically a prison itself. They get their man back with little chance of any real reprisal from the regrouped terrorists in Gaza. Walling off unrestive areas seems to have long term payoffs as well. Mount some robotic sentry guns on the wall and they are complete
