Seen the Xperia Play for only £149.99 on O2 PAYG.

Any owners have any opinions on the phone?

Seems a bargain, but not sure on the screen quality and resolution.

Is the screen the same one used in the Xperia Arc?

Current phone is a Windows Phone 7 LG Optimus, but will be keeping this as a first or second phone.

I had one for a while, frankly at that price it is a steal. They have sorted out a lot of the issues I had with it (screen brightness the main one) and really I can't think of a better phone for that price especially if you like games.
 
I can't think of a better phone at that price point, especially given the gaming functions. I'm almost tempted to buy one myself.
 
I bought one and wow its good. Selling my Galaxy S for it, glad I can still get £150 for it 2nd hand :D

omg so cheap,considering it was 500 euro over here a few weeks back.
 
Have one myself, some of the games are fine, but I got a GBA emulator app and it's a great way to past time during on the tube and free time between lectures in uni. Love it too seeing how you can have music playing in the background while playing :). Recently got Minecraft on it and play it together with my friends who also have android phones :p. The extra controls are brilliant if you're a gamer and the graphics are actually a lot better than I first expected, similair if not better than the PSP in some cases.
 
Also there are 4 EA games for free at the moment if you use the games market built in....

Dead Space
2 Need for speed games for some reason
Asphalt 6
Bad Company 2
 
I got one of these for £149 from 02 in White. Haven't really looked into the phone much but they look like they are a decent device for the price? :)

its not decent for the price, its a steal for the price. best phone you could get for under £200 brand new probably. its main rival is the orange monte carlo which is probably only half as good.

get cyanogen mod on it ASAP

what features are you talking about?

i would download any special apps and games and then move them onto the sd card, as anything on the phones memory should be wiped during installation.

i dont know the specifics of your phone, maybe ask your question on the cyanogen forums.

this custom rom will be a lot better than any ROM Sony ever release for it. it should add more features if anything.
 
I stupidly missed the O2 deal, so had to buy elsewhere but at-least it will be unlocked.

But not even 100% sure I will use it as my primary phone.

Hopefully arrives tomorrow, or it could be two weeks I'm not sure at the moment.
