About to change my phone, I'm currently looking at deals on the SGS2. Have usually gone with O2 and Orange which have both been fine, but the best deal I've found is on Vodafone.

I've only had 1 phone from them, a looooong time ago, I seem to remember that they were OK but expensive (PAYG), but that shouldn't be an issue this time. A few questions:

What have your recent experiences with them been like?
What is their coverage like?
What is their 3G coverage like?
Anything else to be aware of?

Thanks :)

I've been on contract with Voda for the past few years on my Blackberry. Never had an problems at all!

Customer service has been great with any questions ive had, I'm rarely out of coverage, and I'm pretty much always covered on 3G!

I've been with them for about 4 years. Overall I would say they are alright. I've never had any problems anyway. Their 3G coverage is a bit pants though - worse than T-Mobile anyway from what I've seen.

I live basically in a middle of a field, and I'm getting coverage everywhere I stand however when my auntie comes round she can't get anything on her Orange and TMobile so I have to be with Voda :D

All customer service is amazing, answer any questions they can.

I have no problem with Vodafone's coverage wherever I go. Obviously if you're in a remote place signals on all networks are poor but I get 3G almost everywhere at a minimum. Inner City is always H+ or H.

The newly revamped online account area is nice too, you can see a break down of your usage too and how much data has been used.

Never had any problems with Vodafone, always seem great to help when I contact them and signal seems to be really good, not sure if its because I've got a business account that they seems eager to please but I'm happy with them even though I think they're slightly dearer than some other networks I don't think I'd switch now.

Depends where you live. Please stop making threads like this, they are 100% useless :(

Sorry, but no, this reply is useless. I was gauging general opinions as well. Plus, I'd imagine there are Vodafone users who travel the country and can give a good estimation of soverage in general.

Read the replies above, full of useful information that I knew nothing about.

As already stated, every area is different. However I am on Vodafone and do not recommend them, have a look at theregister for the issues I am facing in Central Scotland http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/10/17/vodafone_investigated_by_asa/ (and it might be worth looking at the comment section as well for other areas).

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Cheers for the more useful responses everyone else.

Well, after checking the area coverage they seem pretty good around my area (that's assuming they are being honest).

Found a deal on Phones 4 U:

Vodafone
12 months
300 mins
3000 txts
500mb
£36pm
handset cost £50
Total Cost £482

Sounds too good to be true to me.

Do a speed test. I found vodafone to display 3G near enough everywhere. But do a speed test and it's like 0.1-0.3. Where O2 doesn't show 3G everywhere, just the dot but also gets 0.3ish.

Always have a good signal with vodafone, The only thing that lets them down is their customer service they suck! However if you speak to the vodafone forum guys they actually know what they are doing and will do their best to solve the issue your having, In my case several billing issues.

Been with voda for years, always treated me good and always been fair with upgrades.

I phoned them last night and said i want a SGS2 for free on what i am paying now (30 quid, 300 mins, 500mb internet, unlimited txt, 18 months etc) and the phone price worked out at over 60 quid, they were more than happy to just knock the price off and give it me for free.

Signal always on par with other networks, data coverage is always top as well.

Was with voda for about a year, they were terrible useless customer service. No signal, even after telling me I would have. I ended up paying for a contract that I couldn't use.

Will never go back with vodaphone. Horrible.
