Massive full game beta review: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

"Addicting"

Sorry but the person writing this review is clearly a complete see you next tuesday and I felt mildly ill reading his drivel. And then he used the non word "addicting".

or he's been employed by bioware.

I'll leave the reviews to the established critics. I like that the game appears to be more evolution that revolution but it still has to pull out the odd "new" feature for me to really pick it up. So the Story and Companion characters are the stand out features for me so far. There could be more though.

While I am pre ordering this (something I don't do unless with trusted titles and even then I'm hesitant) I would take his review with a massive cube of salt.

I'll wait for a review from people I know / trust within the industry. I remember reading some quite amazing reviews about about several highly hyped games and then them turning out to be quite poor.

LateX'Dog has been quite brilliant in the information he's fed the thread, but I'm very wary of clicking things due to spoilers and the such, still I'd love some more information on each class set, and specifically Sith V Jedi.

Servers going have a full wipe on the 22/10, I'm only level 35 :(, for a new build, will also mean a full download of the game again.

Even though you think i'm out to get you, if you check your launcher.log file located in x:\xxx\Star Wars-The Old Republic\logs you can find the location to download the files without the launcher, then all you do is when it starts to download the files you've already downloaded you then close the launcher and transfer them across, open the launcher and it'll install them.

I found that method faster at downloading them, then using the laucher. Which reminds me, might make a post with all the download locations couple of days before early access so people can get the files prior to everyone else.

IGN is reporting that a plethora of new SWTOR information will begin to come out starting tomorrow at 9:00 AM PST:

“Tomorrow at 9 AM Pacific you can look forward to a pile of new content. Then starting Monday (the 24th) and lasting through to Friday (the 28th) we’ll be posting a brand new Old Republic article every. Single. Day. “

Stephen Reid also confirmed the news via Twitter:

“As others have noted, we have a press embargo on #SWTOR dropping tomorrow. We’ve had press in for a while. Testers are still under NDA. That means if you’re in testing, you’re still bound by NDA. Only press who have been admitted will be sharing their impressions.”

Could get exciting. Without sounding big headed, i pretty much know enough about TOR now. Playing around with a character creator for it at the moment, but shhhh.

Character creator sounds cool, also getting the files early for early access would be good for me and my slow download speed.

Also thanks for all the video links LateX'Dog, oh and the Sith Inquisitor are they a Ranged dps class?, or are they hybrid? (as in Melee, Ranged and Healing)

May be a stupid and easy to find answer but hows does range Ranged Tanking work? (apart from if there was flying mobs anyway)

Ranged Tanking is normally used against a spell casting/ranged enemy.

In WoW, Warlocks had a spell called searing pain which caused a crap load of threat. Generally they would be wearing a load of + resistance armour to match that of the spells of the boss/mob they are tanking and they would just stand and spam searing pain and keep aggro on said boss/mob.

Idiot.

Thats Vaiken Spacestation

That looks exactly like carrick station. and I think we all know who the idiot is, reported much back to swtor have you.
And I'm pretty sure that the Sith version of Carrick what a numuts, as Unlike you I can log into the game and check and there is no Vaiken space station on the Republic side .. but Carrick is that exact layout, typical cant even explain what you showing properly.

utter rubbish again, you would still have the old build, and its not that I think you out to get me kiddy, its that I know you run and report everything here to swtor hoping for some more crumbs, and Yes I do know its you.

Tho I think if anyone checked back they can clearly see you got a thing about me since I said that in the original beta the game was rubbish you cried and carried on as if I insulted your mom.

Ranged DPS, Healing and Ranged Tank.

So basically a Warlock in WoW :p

Eh? Pretty sure the video showing the first boss in the raid encounter that was posted few months ago on swtor had an assassin off-tanking for a juggernaut in melee range. Has that changed?

And on a side note: wab, Latex, wish you two would just pack it in and stop acting like bickering 13 year olds. The insight into the game you both have provided has been excellent, but the back and forth is really tiring.

I believe Bioware said that the game client will be available for general download before the early access starts. This is intended to assist people with slow download speeds and caps it think.

Yup, and be careful downloading this before they release the correct version as you can not patch old versions to work with the new.

But they will have links up for downloads a few days before the game is released, to help people with capped/slow download speeds, and also to take the weight off their infrastructure on release day.
