Ok, so I may as well share my idiocy in the name of a cheap laugh in Motors I guess. Stripped out the washer pump on my Mondeo since I've been having problems and wanted to confirm it was a dying pump before spending my £10 on a new one.

Jacked car up.

Removed front undertray.

Isolated pump.

Removed pump connections and hoses.

Removed pump.

Forgot to empty washer bottle.

2 litres of washer water over my torso and head. Grumpiness ensues.

:(

Same thing happened to me, twice. First time was when I took the bottom hose off the radiator (I knew what was going to happen, just didn't expect it to be so violent) and second time was when I 'deleted' the washer bottle and didn't bother emptying it first :p.

Smelly coolant in your hair is lovely....

Remember one of my early ventures into spannering, replacing the thermostat on a mk2 golf 1.6. Its on the bottom of the engine, queue the thermostat falling out of the housing onto my head followed by 20 year old coolant and sludge.

Yuck!

Hurts a lot more when you're right underneath undoing a large nut and the socket wrench drops off and smashes you in the face. You only ever do that the once :D
