I've had a change of mind and my hands been kind of forced
so I will stick with the league, I'm probably being pedantic over it all but I hate not being to do something properly, but it's probably better practice playing in league then not and even ifiget thrashed
Mate you are where I was when I switched (and to some degree still am !) to Fifa 12 from version 11. I hated the game, I felt everything had changed and for the worse, now sure I still have bad days but if I'm honest nomore than with version 11. You should have plenty of people on your friends list, so play them as you can judge the skill level and find someone of an equal level rather than the sole destruction of random online games. It's much worse for me, this game is so alien, last Fifa I played properly and regularly was Fifa 09 PC, and that game was poor using the old engine, you could practically walk into a net without any resistance, Fifa 12 is so different, I can't even get used to the controls, eg. I keep subconsciously pressing the pass/green button thinking it's the tackle button lol.
Don't take it so serious mate, the practice games I had against you the other night, your possession play was good. Once you know how to improve the first touch etc, you will be fine.Have a go at controlling your player in the arena and try the skill moves etc.
I'm in your position but i'm learning with each match and thinking of ways to improve my game.
As dirty jester said - don't be shy to ask people who are logged on in origin for a practice game if they have the time - but just get on with playing league games, you have nothing to be ashamed of

Oh and lemonade mate, I should also have said I myself am by no means a good player and just like yourself and gaz and everyone else I have to keep trying to improve. Only think in this league to date is I've been lucky but that would appear to be running out Chin up mate and feel free to invite me anytime.

Thats the purpose of this league. to no t play against randoms. A shame u are quitting though but i must ask, how come it took you this long to figure out the fustrations of this game? The league started wroughtly two weeks after launch so plenty of time to have a go at the game and see iff its right for u.

I've only had the game since last thursday/friday, so didn't know it would be so different, but anyway see first paragraph, i've decided not to quit.
Playing this league is no different to any other multiplayer match, it's just for fun, win or lose, well for me anyway.
Good point, at the end of the day games are for entertainment purposes, it's not the winning that matters its the taking part.....maybe not
