Prabhat: I would like to inform you that you can pre-load a game only if it's available for pre-load for your region.
Adeel Mirza: Yes I can pre-load as I received EA email today saying that I will be given further info with regards to pre-loading the game
Prabhat: Well, I would like to inform you that if the pre-load is available for your region on 22nd Oct, then you can pre-load the game without paying any extra charge for that.
Prabhat: However, I would appreciate if you could wait for the e-mail with the further info to pre-load the game.
Adeel Mirza: Isn't pre-load meant to be 21st Oct for all the selected regions?
Prabhat: Well, the pre-load is region specific.

Taken from the EA forums

Appears that the Origin download may have the 1st day patch already included?

For Origin downloads, the day 1 patch and the client are bundled in 1 download.

If you have ordered it via hard copy (a DVD), I’m 99% sure they will get the patch once the installer completes.

Lol I thought that was too good to be true until I saw battlefield 3 trade :D:p
 
I'm so confused by the screenshot above.
So when you can preload it you can play the campaign but not the multiplayer or something?

doubt it, first day patch means exactly that - day1.
they will potentially still be adding minor fixes to the patch right up till release day

i think trade ins will be through the roof of bf3 to be honest. it will never compete with cod and EA should never of tried to market it in the same league

No, pre-loading is just acquiring the majority of the files so you don't have to download so much on the release date. It reduces the load and bandwidth on their servers. You will still not be able to launch the game as certain critical files will not be included in the pre-load.
 
I think that trade in is a good idea!

I know a lot of console players that are really unsure of BF3, especially after playing the beta.

If I show them this offer, it means they can buy BF3, try it for a few weeks, then if they don't like it, trade it in for MW3.

I bet you that at least 60% of them will like BF3 and decide to keep it, even if they don't completely ditch MW3 and just buy that aswell.
 
Well if EA want to do some serious damage to Activision, they could just reduce the price of BF3 to ~£10 less than MW3. Then EA get the cash for MW3, and people can still buy another copy of BF3 for less than MW3. That way for each gamer who is interested in buying both, EA get the cash twice, and Activision get 0 ;)

The small print says you must buy both games now from Gamestop only then if you return BF3 then they will refund you.
