Right folks, I'm looking to buy a new TV but I'm clueless on which ones are 'good'.

It should conform to the following specs:
-up to £2,500 maximum
-as big as possible (I would like it to be minimum 55'')
-most interested in performance for full HD movie watching streaming from my PC (or an HTPC or just a usb stick)
-good 3D capabilities would be ideal

Is that possible or is my budget too low?

Reading some posts around here I understand that I should go for a plasma screen, is that right?

try the Samsung plasma 59D8000 or 64D8000

They get really good reviews as well, although the panasonic have better blacks, but picture quality is almost the same (slightly better on panasonic imo, having seen them both)

Looks like I'll go for the 64D8000 Sammy. The Panasonic may have better PQ but the real estate of 64'' over 55'' is just too much for me to get over! Also I am not too fussed about small differences in PQ as in all likelihood I won't really notice (coming from a 38'' CRT TV that shows green and yellow as red, I think anything will look stunning. lol).
