Bluescreen / Freezing - MEMTest stall.

Hasn't restarted/bluescreened yet. Running overnight and had memtest for 4 hours and prime for 3... So far so good, temps and everything running ok.

...

I think it was perhaps an application error in the end causing conflicts. But we'll see !

We don't recommend users to update BIOS while the system is running well.

Did you not notice the above on the Bios page.

... But tbh it's working well atm. Been up for 2 - 3 days stable all day/night.

Is rolling back the driver a good idea, or should I just hold out till a new update arrives? The only thing I've noticed is the bios is a bit 'laggy' in the menus.

To me it seems you have answered your own question in your first line - if it is working well atm I would leave well alone, leave it as it is and see how it goes over a longer period. As for a further update or roll back - I would say don't unless you have a specific issue which a bios update cures.If it aint broken, don't fix it is your friend.

I just had a thought, in the case I have (Corsair 600T) there is a vent so you can face the PSU upside down. My question is... I leave my computer on a carpeted floor, is it a bad idea I have it facing upside down, towards the floor, as it isn't going to get enough ventilation?

Is there any feet on the case,or does it sit right on the carpet? If it does sit right on the carpet I would agree it may be better to have the psu the other way - but test and see is the way to go perhaps.

I think it is only a couple of inches off the ground... What happens when a PSU overheats :confused:

.... I don't think it will as my system seems to be running very cool (especially with winter rolling in).

AFAIK a psu will just shut down when overheating, but I suppose there is always a risk it could possibly damage the system, but unlikely. As you say winter is coming with cooler temps so I think you will be fine as it is set up now.I suppose you could always put a couple of books or something underneath the feet to raise it up slightly, and increase air flow to psu???
