I received my NH-D14 today and i was wondering if i should use the MX-3 paste i already have or use the stuff that comes with the cooler?

Also, is a blob in the middle of the CPU still the preferred way to apply the paste?

Thanks

The stuff Noctua provide isn't bad at all. I don't know about the shelf life of thermal paste (i imagine it's a long time) so you could go with either I guess. Talk about sitting on the fence! Sorry!

Yes a small pea sized blob will do and tight'n your heatsink down, after a couple of days just nip the heatsink screws again as the paste will have settled down.

Thanks. What exactly do you mean by 'nip the screws'? I'm a bit of a spaz at this sort of thing.
