Wait. So your saying life must be dull for people wanting to dress up and enjoy themselves?
You sound like a real joy.....

I'm saying if it takes something like this in order for people to have a laugh then the normal must be pretty boring.

And yes I have lots of great friends, a beautiful wife and life is anything but dull. I can also have a laugh while wearing normal clothes and not having to act like a kid for enjoyment!

Celebratory days are pointless (personally) mostly because nothing of worth is being celebrated.

Until that changes, i really wont care, its hardly ruining my life not celebrating Halloween.

Just because the meaning behind the holidays has been lost over the years doesnt mean you cant still enjoy the traditions they still hold.

I dont believe in anything Christian but i still enjoy the traditions of been with friends and or family throughout the few days.

I dont believe in the easter bunny but i like giving my younger family members chocolate eggs.

etc.

I dont doubt you do at all, i wasnt having a real dig.

I enjoy life, lots of friends and family and all that and often most of my time is spent with them always having a laugh and enjoying ourselves.
Normal clothes or not we still have a belter of a time no matter where we are. The point im making is we just enjoy dressing up and still having the same amount of fun. Nothing childish about dressing up, its more creative than anything else for some people!

I'm pretty sure I already said that these celebratory days are a reason to get drunk and mess about and have a laugh. Proper celebratory days, like the royal weddings are boring.

Halloweens offers a reason to get creative and make an awesome or crappy costume and have a laugh, breaking the normality of a 9-5 eat, sleep, work lifestyle

Still kinda shows how dull humanity has become (by that i mean >20s years of age, since younger folk tend to be more creative, no offence).

Im such a kill joy :3

I imagine it can't be dull with that broom handle shoved up you so far. :p

Our history is full of mummery and masque this is just another form of the tradition and in many ways dressing up for fun has always been a tool for social levelling. It's only in the late 20th and 21st centurys that people seem to have lost the sense of fun from their lives and that it's frowned upon by so called mature adults.

Halo-ween? So you're going as Master Chief then?

If I go anywhere it with either be as either Cactus Jack (because it's easy), Jason Voorhees (my usual choice), or a zombie (again, because it's easy)

I've been keeping my eye on the Predator costumes on eBay but I just can't afford £300+ for something I use once a year.....although I imagine going to Tesco could be made more entertaining

Ye most of my posts are wrong spelling don't worry about it lol it's a mixture of dyslexia usinging a iPad and not giving 2 flying ***** if Its spelt right or not ;-):D

Hmmm... Good question. I have dressed up as Michael Myers (my surname is Myers) for about six years now.

Perhaps I'll go as the Angry Video Game Nerd.

I don't celebrate, got better things to do, especially how the internet will be free of noobs. The sky is clear on the horizon.
