iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Nah, i just did it as an upgrade on my account and they knocked off £60 from the handset price. I decided i was happier to get the discount upfront rather than waiting for cashback.

Plus i don't need to bother porting my existing 3 number to another network and back again :)

So 3 are meant to be good with their coverage of 3G. How about cell signal? I am guessing London will be fine and country side not so much? Though my O2 phone isn't exactly great in Devon, doesn't bother me too much.

EDIT - Currently on O2 but doesn't run out until April. I have no patience :o

Has anyone tried upgrading through 3 to a 4S? My contract ended last month and i'm thinking of upgrading my 3GS which is slowly becoming a bit slow and a pain to use. Was wondering if i'd be able to get them to know around £100 off the phone cost to save me the hassle of getting a new contract using quidco

I've put together this little summary that i worked out of costs i'd have to pay
How do you get £72 off buying it outright using Quidco? All I can see is 3.5% off which is about £20 for a 32gb phone.

Fair enough.

Overlooked idea doh!

Latest - Avoiding the risky buy in the US strategy

Iphone 64GB in White from Apple store UK - bought through my business, so I'll be having back that 20% providing expenditure is higher than income.

iPhone 64GB = £582.50

to co-inside with my orange deal £5pm 500mb data, 100 mins cross, unlimited texts.. Although I might go to giffgaff @ £10pm if I can't get more out of orange for the measly £5 pm

total per annum = £642.50 on orange or £702.50 on giffgaff - And you know giffgaff are going to lower their minutes the more they become saturated as they've already done.

On the o2 website it gives you monthly costs say 46 pound for 1 year. Does that include data?

Because underneath it it says bolt ons? 500mb for 6 quid?

All I want is around 500mb so is my bill going to be 52? or is there free data on the 46

None of the O2 tariffs for I phone 4 s include any data , you are correct in as much as you have to bolt it on .

Importing from the US can work out cheaper, I bought my first gen iPhone from an american guy off eBay, and although it was cheaper than buying from the UK, I had to pay £60 import tax, because customs and revenue realised I was trying to save money on buying abroad.

Agreed, however i was then basing it on getting around £50 cash back from quidco for a 12 month sim only deal on Three :)

i find my O2 seems to cover most of north devon, even out in the sticks like holsworthy, and torrington, bradworthy all the little villages seem to work! however 3 struggle, but again i never had a BIG issue with it when i was on 3.

I rang o2 retentions yesterday and they said they have now started offering discounts for existing customers thinking of leaving etc. They offered the 32GB 4S for £80 instead of £199 on the 600 mins £31+6data tariff@24months. They were doing similar discounts with other tariffs too and at 18months too, but that was the one i was interested in. I'm not a big spending customer or anything either (normally £35/month except when im on holiday when it goes up a bit), although I have been with them for about 8 or 9 years.

I still ended up going with the Three deal tho, as there reception is miles better where i live.

for 72 pounds a month i got unlimited mins unlimited texts 1 gb internet on a 12 month contract, got the handset for nothing 32gb was 100 but traded in my 3gs which i got 100 for, the 12 month contract is perfect means next year when the iphone 5 comes out ill be due an upgrade
