Mercedes S63 AMG as a first car?

I've got a great idea; I'm in the City tomorrow with another OcUKer, we can meet you and your friend and discussion car options. I am an automotive professional and can advise him in detail. My normal day rate is £1000, but as this is OcUK I will do it for free.

When you say you'r an automotive professional what do you do exactly?

He won't be putting his foot down at traffic lights or treating the road like a race track.

Trust me, anyone getting a car like that WILL put their foot down.

He will either get caught speeding or wrap it around a lamp post.

Take the advice above and advise him to think about getting something a little more appropriate, there are plenty of hot hatches that would offer him good performance, looks and be cheaper to own and run.

Guys, this is a magick thread. Dont take the bait.

And also - I think an S63 is completely over the top as a first car.

No, no......you want something sensible. Like a Koenigsegg CCXR.

Its a bit like losing you virginity to your ultimate fantasy.

You are probably too inexperienced to get the most out of it.
It will be prohibitably expensive.
The consequences of crashing and burning are far greater.
Even if you do manage to do it justice it leaves little room for improvement in the future and it will be downhill after that.

Better to get up to speed on something a little more rough and ready thats already been well broken in and can take the odd smash or two without the damage being too great.

I work for an independent organisation not involved in the selling of cars, but in the providing of information that helps manufacturers, dealers and consumers build and market, sell and buy cars respectively. I am employed to know about cars and computers.

Yet you drive a diesel and only talk about torkz :(

There's a little known secret that diesels are actually the fastest cars in the world and brilliant in every way. If you were in such a privileged position as I you would too know this.

Is that why in that film 'The Core' they used a Fabia VRS to restart the earth?
