*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

You may well be right, but i do not want to be enjoying the jedi knight, only to enter a contested area and get corpse camped by some 12 year olds for 3 hours.

That is not fun for me.

Fair point mate, at the end of the day you are paying a ~£8 a month so you don't want to be playing on a sever type you don't like.

If you change your mind both OcUK guilds would be happy to have you :)

While Black Sun Pirates might not be the zenith of sophistication, it does have actual SW universe lore links; it also brings back happy memories of blasting tonnes of the buggers out the sky above Endor in Jump to Lightspeed, to get that luuurvly rare helmet drop :)

I take it PvE is the way to go if you're new to MMOs too?

It depends on the player. When I first started playing MMO's I jumped straight into a PvP server and haven't looked back.

If this is your first MMO then you will most likely prefer to have a guild to to talk to/answer your questions etc. and that is what the two OcUK guilds can provide.

But it is upto you.

Thanks for the link man. Was thinking umm guild to join haaa.

Which of the two OcUK guilds are you going for mate? Don't be put off by the fact that the Republic guild doesn't have as many players as the Sith Empire one does, it should even itself out hopefully by launch.

I wouldn't say that.

Its entirely up to the individual. If you like the thought of killing other players at will when your out questing, then be prepared for the other side of the coin when them players come back and kill you.

If the above sounds appealing, then a PvP server is definitely for you.

But for me, i enjoy questing too much and i hate being ganked (killed while on low health or middle of a quest), so i always play on PvE and then engage in PvP when I'm ready.

Bit confused as to why you'd want to use that much bandwidth, time and effort just for the soundtrack? Do you guys not want any new experiences in game when it comes out? Data mining the beta, SRSLY? Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy? Of course you read up on the races/classes/areas etc to prepare for the release date but some of what I've seen here is a step too far IMO.
