Nissan 350z - Yes or No?

Not a clue mate, I've done all my buying pravately. Would you consider buying privately?

My problem is i live on the isle of lewis so buying privately is problematic in terms of negotiation and collection. I have a very trusted person in Edinburgh who will happily do a bit of travelling and test driving on my behalf but generally its easier dealing with a company rather than an individual. Im open to either really but i also dont want to mess a private seller around!

I love the 350 but im just wondering how much I would miss the back seats...For example not being able to give my mates a lift is a big factor...

Thats why i dismissed it at first until i actual thought about it. I have had one person in the car a million times over the last couple of years but more than that could be counted on the fiingures of one hand. Frankly id rather buy the car and pay for my mates taxi if it came to that!!! :p

Not sure if boot space is much of an issue for you but a huge strut brace cuts the boot in half making it pretty small and shallow.

im not sure how i can explain it but there is a sticker on the underneath of the hatch explaining how to arrange 2 golf bags to get them to fit in, so anything more isnt gonna happen really.

having said that ive had mine since march and i love it! Got its first P3 coming up though :(

Well its just abit more sociable having 4 seats really.

Im always doing things like going to the cinemas or eating out with mates and most of the time im the only one that drives so it would make life a lot harder to do stuff.

Think ill just save abit more and get a monaro :)

A quick example.

Irn Bru did an offer on 12 cans of 500ml in Tesco a while back. I bought one.

2 months ago I gave my folks a lift to the airport, as i threw the case in the boot i thought "I must take that Irn Bru into the house".

Two weeks later i picked them up from their holiday and put the case in the boot and thought "i must take that Irn Bru into the house"

Here i am on the 23rd of Oct thinking "i must take that Irn Bru into the house"

In theory the lack of a big boot is a huge issue, in parctice for me it invloves taking my parents to the airport twice at year at most!!! I had to actually sit down and think about it to come to that conclusion!

This will sound poor but most of my social activities that involve more than one person also involve alcohol.

I wouldnt take the car in a situation i might be drinking.

I live in a small town so even going to the cinema will be a walk rather than a drive and i'll have a beer.

I really liked the 350z i took for a testdrive but two points would put me off buying one.

1) The dash and interior as a whole is terrible, why do they insist on putting that cheap plastic flap on the console? It reminds me of the Celica and looks totally terrible, clocks look really poor too, bad effort by Nissan imho.

2) The strut brace bar in the 'boot' would start to cheese me off very very quickly, the boot space could have been vast and would have been perfect for my needs, however with that stupid brace in the way it makes the boot next to worthless.

That was my main complaint (apart form the lack of power) with the 2005 350z I tested, compared to the 300zx the interior felt substantially... less solid.

Meh, they both look like Amstrad styled them, and tbh both the LHD/RHD car in those links having a LHD handbrake kinda sums up the effort Nissan put into the styling. The 370z was a large improvement over the 350z, in fact I think im correct in saying that when everyday driver (American show, like old top gear but without boring cars) did a head to head review of the 300zx/350z/370z when the 370 was launched the 300/350 came out even on points due mainly to the quality of the 350's cabin.
