I've been looking at a new case Lancool PC-K9X I've seen a picture on a review site with the PSU mounted upside down, i.e. the fan side facing into the case rather than the fan facing the bottom of the case.

Can you have the fan of the PSU facing inside the case?

Is there any benefits?

With the older cases, where the PSU was mounted at the top it did help a little with exhausting the air?

Or am I being silly, and don't realise the new PSUs come with two fans..

You can have the power supply facing inside the case, or blowing the air out of the case, depending if there is a grill/vent at the bottom of your case. Some people prefer to have it so it blows the air straight at off the case instead of it going to the graphics card, thats all. And from what I know, psu's don't have two fans. Hope that helps :)

You can have it facing either way but where you have a case with a vented bottom () fitting the PSU with the intake fan at the bottom allows it to draw in cool air from outside the case rather than warm air from the inside keeping the PSU cooler.

It doesn't really work if the case sits on a deep pile carpet blocking the intake.

Whichever way you fit it the warm air is blown out of the case the orientation just determines where the PSU is drawing air in from.
