Bit of advice helping my mum find a car please.

My Mum requires a Renault Scenic style vehicle for pottering around Scarborough with the occasional longer trip down here to Rotherham for the weekend, the problem is I have no clue when it comes to this sort of car as I have no interest in them.

The criteria she has given me is that the car has to be an automatic, and also has to be reasonably reliable/cheap to run. She only has around £1k to spend plus whatever her W-Reg Fiat Punto 1.2 fetches in part-ex.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

I cannot think of £1k automatic Scenic type vehicle that isnt going to be a complete nail

It just doesnt seem like enough money to buy this sort of car.

I'd be looking at a Zafari, but then it's still going to be a nail at a grand.

Yeah, she had a "tibial plateau break" early in the year & is finding it hard to drive normal cars. A manual is now out of the question too which is why her little punto has to go, she finds it too painful to drive now and can't get out of it very easily.

Her budget can't stretch much further as she has been unable to work for months due to her leg.
