Hi guys,

I'm poised with the long card number accross the middle for an order but just want some quick advise...

With Battlefield 3 in mind (obviously) do I buy one GTX 570 £251.99 or two 560Ti's (1024MB) for SLI circa £300?

I guess my theory is the higher combined VRAM of the two cards to run the game faster and more stable?

Thanks,

AdamN.

two 560ti's would be faster then the on 570 - would go with this if you are only set on these two. other wise, would go for one 560ti and wait save up more cash till next year Feb time-ish and upgrade card again selling your 560ti!

Reason I said pick the 570 2.5GB is because it would be awesome for BF3. My 6950 has most options on ultra and I still get 50+ fps. And a 570 can be overclocked within seconds to beat mine. Plus the Vram is future proof for now. I honestly think 1GB vram wouldnt last that much longer.

Is my theory of twice the VRAM with two cards not accurate then?

Nope, thats what I used to think before being told that. Sucks dont it lol..

Or if you wanted, get a 6950 (which is what I have and it does smash games including BF3) then add another. It's about £410 tops for 2 cards

People will say 'wait for Amd's 7xxx' but it will be like 5/6 months before the top end ones show up...They always release their budget range first.

Just my thoughts anyway, your rig is fine, depends what you wanna do. But yeah BF3 is stressful and beautiful

Lol thats really expensive for what it is really.

With the This Week Only offer it's quite reasonable. Unfortunately vendors like to put a minuscule overclock on the cards and charge silly money for that "bonus". But it is reasonable, it's got a triple fan cooler which has been rated quite high, free game. What's not to like? :D

I just think if I had a choice between that 570 or a 6950 + SSD I'd go for the latter.

Or a 2GB 560ti and overclock it to like 1050mhz

I guess the only other question is... If I replace my 260 with another nvidia (providing I have the latest drivers) is it as easy as taking one out and putting the other in?

Can anyone else shed some additional light on this for me?

yes, simply uninstall your current nvidia drivers, (its a good idea to download the drivers for the new card in advance)

then install the actual card and then install the drivers for your new card

Thank you. Will remember to do that... I've gone bonkers... Was buying a 560Ti, then two of them, ended up walking away with a GTX580 and HS1 Headset to with it!

I am BATTLEFIELD 3 ready! :)
