****The Official iPhone 4S Accessories Thread****

Well the case is very good in the sense that it'll protect my phone from scratches, drops (not on the front) and other things although it is pretty ugly though. It gets rid of the iphone4 look, but then again it's better than damaging the phone.

It was the Black Capsule Rebel, can't say its amazing or anything, but it'll do the job its mean to be doing in my mind.

The whole thing really of 'show off' vs 'protecting the phone'. But as you said, doesn't protect the front, most of the 'suggested cases don't'

Had a look at some cases in CPW and Apple Regent Street today. Wanted a transparent or frosty one that clips onto the back and sides only as I wanted to use a screen protector as well. Coloured cases don't seem to go well with my White model as much as a Black one!

They had only two, one from Incase and one from other I can't remember, and none of them fitted the silent button! When I asked someone, they said I would have to simply resort to one that doesn't do buttons, or try the rainforest. Have to say I was pretty disappointed so my search continues online now.

I've seen some variations of the same cases online where the silent and volume buttons aren't separated but there's just one long hole. I guess these ones must be the latest variations and should fit my 4S fine?

How do you both like the case then? What colours as well (along with what colour phone :)?)

I really like it, I have the black case on black phone. I had the 3GS CapsuleRebel before this and this is a much more refined and sleeker design. It still retains the slimness of the 4 as a whole, but with the added grip and design feature of the 'spine'. I really like the full coverage it provides with the alternate hard and soft casing, facedown protection and the headphone/dock plugs. I am also a massive fan of the switcheasy screen protectors and this just tops off a great protective package. :)

Titanium? that'll mark like hell.

Brushed metal is easier to 'repair' than say, anodised aluminium as you can just re-brush it yourself. Also it will take a lot more to dent it as titanium has one of, if not the strongest strength/weight ratio of the metals. My main gripe with that case is I don't like the home button being uncovered. I'd look to get a matching home button sticker or something like that. I'd also ask for the 'Titanium' on the front not to be done as that is a bit tacky.

Also, I got my Knomo Slim case today, just in the plain black. Thoughts:

The leather is high quality, has that leather smell and feels nice to the touch. Build quality is also very good, stitching looks like it will last ages.

The inside is a very soft black material, no chance of scratches.

It's nice and slim, as the name suggests, barely any added bulk. A snug fit, but easy to place the phone into it, and removing it is just a case of pulling the phone out by the top corners whilst pushing the bottom. There are holes at the bottom for the speakers, although I tend to have the phone on silent most of the day anyway so vibrations are felt just as easily.

If you're like me and like nekkid phones but find putting them in your pockets or leaving it lying on your desk ends up with them being scratched or marked, then I'd recommend it. UK company (unlike say, Sena), ordered Monday, arrived Wednesday, free shipping, £25 isn't the cheapest but it's 'proper' leather and looks quite smart! Also the Knomo logo is quite small and tidy, if you're against big splashy names on your cases.

I'll take some pics on Friday as I'm doing 8-8's Mon-Thurs and consequently see and get no sunlight to take nice product photos with haha.

Got my Magicscreen crystal clear edition protector today. Get 2 for like £9

I did it quickly, it's not in perfect allignment with the home button etc but it's good enough for now. Also an air bubble along the bottom under the home button. For now I will live with it.

Does anyone know of a good bluetooth system that works well with Siri, and isn't ridiculously expensive.
Does anyone use the ford built in one? Whats your experience of that like.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Don't know about Ford one, but in my car, I have factory VAG setup, paired with 4S, after pressing button on the phone, the radio fade away, Siri "blip" comes up on the speakers and car wired microphone is used for listening. Works better than expected. My steering wheel button corresponds to car's voice command, which is independent from the phone used, so that obviously doesn't activate Siri. Similarly, with my ancient Sony Ericsson over the ear bluetooth pressing the connect/voice command button doesn't do it either, so maybe it's actually apple coding - maybe you have to press home button.

Suddenly wired solutions work better than bluetooth.

OMFG! This looks amazing! I would love one like it, I'm just terrified to put it on incase I wreck it.

Changing the back plate is really easy, it's only two screws, you just need the right sort of screwdriver. The main problem though is a lot of these replacement backplates use cheap plastic bits in places that snap, and most importantly don't have any kind of flash diffuser so photos get washed out badly if you use it. Also some of them mess with your signal, although that's more the metal ones and them not being isolated with rubber from the antenna band.

My switcheasy capsulerebel white and vulcan clear arrived today.

Don't feel like the Vulcan will protect it enough if dropped but doesn't really add any bulk or weight, the volume buttons didn't seem to press down to great either.

The Capsule on the other hand does add weight for sure, though I feel lke the protection will be good. Volume buttons work well and I think it looks nice. Will keep this on.

Anyone know of a basic dock similar to the official Apple one but that will allow me to dock while leaving my case on?

Have a PhoneDevil Matte Clear Edition screen protector on the front of my white iPhone 4S and then an Incipio Feather clear hard shell on the back at the moment. Looks fantastic and doesn't push up the edges of the screen protector to create bubbles.
