Have they not always said BF3 will have a patch on day one? ie proper release day the 28th? I am sure I have seen this many times on the net. Or is that rubbish I wonder.

I thought the day one patch was released on the 24th October? I may be wrong though...

The patch is already implemented on the downloaded versions.

my bf3 was running really bad so i repair the install through origin now it wont install any ideas???

new rig bought just over a week ago. ran ok for a week then MSI motherboard died and the graphics card is dead with it

Any error messages? Graphics drivers were my problem, and still are a bit of a problem.

No it just goes a grey kind of patterned screen and hangs.

Possibly overheating of the graphics card? What are the temps? Have you got enough VRAM on your graphics card available?
What card have you got by the way?

Runs everything else just fine for hours and hours

I really like to use it to my advantage With the sun on my back and the flash suppressor I can guard capture points quite well.

No mate, just the proxy stuff.

I'm getting a nice smooth FPS with everything except shadows on ultra, but AO and AA off.

Is there an AA setting that gives some smoothing but minimal hit?

2GB VRAM is plenty. I'm presuming the core clock of the 6970 is higher than that of the 6950... so it could be an overheating issue, try and monitor the temps and see what they reach.

I'm also guessing that you've got the recommended or latest driver?
