Currently 24 years old and am in bracket 4.

In the next 2 years I should be in bracket 5/6.

A senior position doing the job I do is generally in bracket 8, so I guess that's what I should vote for seeing as I don't intend on changing careers any time soon.

With any luck my grad scheme will be £30k + so I voted £100k+ Wouldn't want to be stuck at junior level my whole life would I :p

I would be happy pretty much being on double. But I'm terrible with money, I see it as a goal to see how quick I can spend it on beer before the end of the first week of the month!

A lot have voted 30-40k. I remember when I was at school, it was thought of that if you got into the 30s when you were older, you had "succeeded in life" in terms of getting a good job. It was viewed upon as upper tier earning by most. Now I laugh at those thoughts in that now it feels like I would have to in the 30s to live. But then, this is not helped by cost of living and house prices where I live (South East).

Currently group 7 which I'm happy with, although 6 figures (or more!) would be nice.

Then again, being abroad I don't need to pay so much in the way of tax , so works out quite a bit better than if I was staying in the UK

30-40

I knew someone on 80-odd.

Up at about 5AM most weekdays, back at about 8-9PM.

Occasionally spending whole weekends writing reports and tbh had to be chased by the company to take his holidays.

So yes, 30-40. I may revise that if I ever really like a job to sacrifice more for it.

I wont get out of bed to be a wage slave for less than <40k, and even then I'm not going to do it for something unless it's something I enjoy. I am lucky enough to be successfully self employed to be able to have these stipulations.

Would be happy with <18k tbh. I'd rather have no responsibilities etc.

I dont have responsibilities other than to do a good job, work < 40hours a week on a 4 day week and am in the upper 7 bracket. I am a contractor so work can be touch and go though hence the pay

Huh, I thought the peak of the curve would be further up the scale. I'm in the median bracket of £30k-£40k but have every intention of getting up to £50k-£75k, and that's without factoring in any income my wife gets.

Well if it was what would you want to be paid rather than what you'd be happy with I'm sure people would tag higher.

You can want more than you'd call enough to be happy on.

"£75000-£100000"

This is what I'd like to be on as soon as possible. I'm currently getting ready to start a degree at the OU, if that goes well I will continue on to the masters. My aim is to try and get chartered engineer status by the time I'm 29-30.

I have a good idea of what I'd like to do, it's just ironing out the creases.

If you go OU you won't be chartered anytime soon, I'm not ever sure any accredit the OU courses.

Also, the likelyhood of being paid 75k+ as an engineer is slim unless you are in the oil and gas indusrty.

I can live off 45k-65k but I have to be honest and would be happy with millions especially as the amount and intensity of work involved to earn the higher end of the salary scale is virtually the same whether running your own business or a senior manager / company director.
