Who's still on I7 1366?

920 @ 3.5GHz and still happy. I decided to skip sandy partly because I'm happy with the performance I'm getting, mostly because I don't have the money to upgrade :D

Currently using an i7 920 @ 3.4ghz but just ordered a new SB rig because I wanted better performance for some new SSD drives :)

You say that but dual cores are struggling nowadays :p

Yes but I would have an I5 2500k nowadays!

I had an Athlon X2 4400+ > E8400 > I7 920 (plus loads of single core CPUs prior to that).

The I7 920 is still powerful enough to skip LGA2011 completely.

I'm still on a Q6600 @3.2, running as sweet as a nut, still plenty fast for me. Rest of rig in sig below. I don't game at a high resolution because of my small 19" widescreen LCD so even the latest gaming releases still run and look fine for my needs.

i upgraded from i7 920 to a 2500k

just my mother board failed on i7 build and it olny worked out like an extra 50-70 to upgrade

but also looking for cheap 1336 socket board tho build a lan pc

What coolers are people tending to use on their i7 920s? I have an H20 for a very mild overclock but think i should put more effort into beefing it up a little.

Are ppl going for the big air coolers or some of the newer watercooling loops?

I suppose my target would be 4ghz, but with noise under control!

I'm using a Noctua D-14 @ 7v. Keeping a 950 @ 4.2 nice and cool.

My 1366 board has seen some fair use over the years. Started with a launch model 920 that could barely do 3.6-3.8.

On the gpu front its seen;

8800gtx
8800gtx sli
4870x2
4870x2 crossfire
5870 crossfire
5870 2gb crossfire
gtx 480 sli
gtx 480 sli + gtx 460

What a monster of a platform to be able to keep respectable pace after all these years, if I can keep my upgradeitus from settling in I could probably keep it till ivy-e/haswell.

I wish I was on 1366, still on 975 here! May have to upgrade now BF3 is out and with Skyrim around the corner...

Time to browse the MM

Yeah I have seen sense thanks chaps...It would make no difference to my life other than costing me more money.

The 920 still rocks and spits out edited and encoded Home Videos in sony Vegas very quick!

Still on my 920, thought about going to sb but decided not to bother. Probably hold on to it till ivybridge. Liked the 9** series that much i bought a 930 and another asus x58 board, (p6 x58de) and 6gb of ram to replace another pc i had. An absolute steal at £200.00, considering i paid almost £600.00 for the cpu, board and ram in sig. If anything im considering a psu upgrade, (1000w+) as i want to clock my gpu's a bit higher.

I'm on a 930@4ghz which is fast enough for me, it will be a long time before I will upgrade most likely ivybridge.
