Tell me about Integras...

And your someone who tried to say there was no difference between a Corolla and a Civic Type R or some such nonsense, so your opinion on things motoring related have that golden thought process behind it discrediting everything you say.

I didnt say there was no difference at all, I said the Facelift Corolla T-Sport was a viable alternative and that I had driven both back to back and bought the Corolla

Which is a lot more than what I can say for you, someone who I dont think has ever attempted to post any form of help and just posts things like the above on internet forums to try and justify your existance to yourself

All Type-Rs of that era pre FN2 had AC as an option so its impossible to use AC as a "mod con" some have it some dont

The only Honda i've ever driven that felt like it was as fast as its book figures was my Prelude and a JDM 96 spec ITR. EP3s dont feel as quick as the book figures make out

The EP3 I drove didn't feel like a 0-60 in 6.4 car.

You have to get your launches down to achieve that but it will do it day in, day out. In truth they don’t feel that quick because there is no gut wrenching torque and even a 1.9TDI engine can feel more potent (thinking of the previous Fabia VRS).

Surely if you're comparing the 0-60 times of these cars then you're totally misunderstanding the ethos of the Integra?

I see relentless is banging the corolla drum again.

OT: I don't understand why the Civic VS Integra argument has come up, they are both very similar performing cars which cater for different audiences.

Integra is a coupe and civic is a hatch. Surely that is pretty obvious?

The other, if not biggest problem here is comparing the EP3 to the DC2 where the reality is, the DC5 is the comparable model.

The EP3 is compared to the DC2 because of cost to buy, rather than model year and phasing. The DC2 was about in the era of the MB6 civic with the 1.8 vtec and lsd in.

The DC5 is a much nicer place to be than the DC2 but they cost notably more to buy and 6-7k seems to be the minimum sensible pricing bracket for the DC5.

The OP has a budget of £5k, so everything you just said was pointless.

I know the budget and, what I said was far from pointless, since people are jumping on the DC2 vs EP3 bandwagon which inevitably leads to the EP3s coming out on top, having more creature comforts, being quicker, nicer place to be etc etc.

The reality is, of course it will be. However if you compare the EP3 to the DC5 the dynamics of the argument change somewhat.

The DC2 is the wrong car unless you are the die-hard enthusiast and indeed, at 5K, the EP3 makes much more sense. You really have to want a DC2 and nothing else to consider one these days, it is not a car you buy on a whim and can live with as a day to day drive (unless you like the ride and seats). 5/6 years ago when I had my MB6 the DC2 was more often compared to this generation of Civic which made for a much more balanced argument and set of comparators.

P.S. The DC2 is awesome, but I have no love for the seats, the ride I could live with but the seats……….

The other good thing is, if you get a good DC2, you won't loose much ££ on it.

Absolute rubbish its obvious I was replying to correct a misinformed post what am I supposed to do just ignore it why arent you pulling him up on posting nothing but trouble causing posts its absolutely amazing how he gets away with it! Get your facts right and read the post properly, you're suppossed to be a mod!

If I had £5k to spend on a car right now I would save up and buy something newer for around £6/7k and test drive cars like an FN2 or or Mazda MPS

I wouldnt put £5k into an 11 year old car thats well known for rot unless you really really wanted that particular car amd had the money to look after the tin foil arches

Oh and JDM 98 spec DC2 would be quicker than a UKDM EP3 so what is being compared, UKDM EP3 and UKDM DC2?

hatch/coupe is pretty blurred definition anyway

Not really,

Coupe = 2/3 doors, lower profile roofline / streamlined, extended boot line/profile, boot may or may not open with rear window.

Hatch = 3 or 5 doors, higher roofline profile, boot profile flush or almost flush with back of car mostly especially these days i.e. rear of golfs, astras etc etc.

A larger car can have a hatch-back for example a mondeo.

It is the lower profile of the car and 3 doors which defines the coupe shape. In the 90's cars did not have as much headroom as now, but it was still pretty obvious to tell the 3/5 door civic from the civic coupe or Integra, or the rover 214 from the 220 coupe.

The coupe tends to be the streamlined 3 door version of the 5 door / hatch model. An Audi TT/Nissan 370Z etc whilst coupe in shape is not a coupe variant of a mainstream model unlike say the Volvo C70 to the V70/S60

Surely you mean 2 doors..... ie you cant get into the cabin through the trunk in a typical Coupé.

Lol.

In trying to prove there isnt a blurred definition of hatchbacks and coupes, Scrutinize has posted... a blurred definition of hatchback and coupes :p

All I need to discount your opinion.

My 335i Coupe had only 2 doors.
