Probably best and smoothest PC release for me. Afterall, been playing since monday

DONT try and verify your game.... I thought it might fix the punk buster crap but now im having to reinstall.

Stuck in an infinite loop of verify/installing.. for 30 minutes then when trying to get out via a fix mentioned on the website it decides to tell me i no longer have the game.

My brother received an email from Game saying that some physical copies have shipped with a version of Origin that won't work with BF3...and that it was necessary to download the latest version of Origin

Wonder if this might have been the cause of the problem you had???

GMG Sold LE with no other Bonuses.

Well, my install said PWP when I went to confirm it on Origin

Oh well. It's all so confusing, these different bonuses. Used to be you got 2 editions. Now all these extra retailer bonuses are such a massive nuisance.

Can someone tell me if its possible to host your own dedicated server? I've had a google around about them and i keep getting results telling me that i can rent them from EA etc.

i am too - yes its stupid and also extremely slow for a DVD install 11MB transfer rate from a DVD??? seems terrible.

If you look a bit closer, your see that it says 'EA are not releasing the server files' which means we can't host our own dedicated.

If you find anything please let me know, as me and a group of my friends would love to do this also.

you can only rent you cant host your own you pay for the server you can do what you like with it

Oh no he didn't!

I won't be preordering physical copies of games anymore I don't think. ASDA cancelled my order at the very last minute, even after confirming it was getting sent. Very poor.

There was only one delivery option when pre ordering the game. I was given a code for a spc or something kit though. Very bad reviews about the game concerning orgin. Complaining about trojans and how Orgin has access to the bf3 EA files?

no idea if i'm honest, had made sure origin was up to date prior to running it.

but there were loads of problems with activation etc so anything could have happened

.

my post was more of a warning cos if you have a d/l limit on your net connection it could cause problems.
