530d GT - Should I?

With the seats down it has more load space than a 5 Touring.
It's also got a longer wheelbase and has a higher seating position.

Make sure you get Surround View though. You can't see squat out the back window.

If they could redesign the rear lights , then it has a chance of looking a little better, the back end of the car just looks wronger than jacko in a kids theme park:p

No, do not buy it.
I had one for a couple of weeks while my 750i was being fixed and it's a hateful car.

Here are my issues with it:
Bigger than a 5 series but with only 4 seats
Ride quality was shocking (literally)
Sod all boot space due to angle of the tailgate
Lifeless steering
Expensive
Apalling rear visibility
Ugly as sin

I would go with an F10 Touring every day of the week.

HA HA, been here, had this thought, canned it and think the 7 series is better than this, which I've now moved on to X5/530d....perhaps X6. BMW can't give GT's away so I can imagine why you're considering one, they are give away cheap right now, talk of 6-8K deposit and APR below anything you can close to with a bank...but then it needs to be as it's the size of a tanker with the looks of Maureen from driving school.....naked and without makeup.

If that was aimed at me Foxy you are probably bang on the money, car's right now are really something I have to be in the mood for, just lost my car mojo. :(

To be fair they are not that ugly with a nice set of wheels on them, but the nice set of wheels also destroys the ride. I took one out today, bounced around, was remote and felt unsorted and very unlike the car you expected it to be. I am not bothered if it handles like a barge if it rides like a magic carpet, sounds silent and wafts you a long like a spaceship, step up A8 4.2TDi or Merc S Class, instead it gets the middle ground which is all the bits in place, just the wrong bits and in the wrong order.
