iPhone 4s battery life

My battery is pretty poor so I am trying to make some changes to increase it.

What order should I prioritise these changes in? ie. which ones have the most affect?

It's a known issue with the iPhone4S and Apple are working on it last I heard, so you might want to hang fire and wait for an update.

My iPhone 4 has been a bit rubbish since the iOS 5 update.

Worth checking this :
Settings / Location Services / System Services (down at the bottom).
Turn off Setting Time Zone.

I don't need my phone powering up the GPS to see if I'm in the right time zone.

My iPhone 4 battery life seemed to be about a third less after iOS5. I found turning off location services for weather and a couple of other items which it seemed to be frequently using improved it no end.

Pretty sure it's not placebo as I can now make it through the day again whereas immediately after the update I could not.

I wondered about the battery life on the 4s. The 3gs and the 4 both quote 300hrs standby but the 4 only 200hrs.

I asked in the Apple store but could not get a satisfactory answer.

Anybody have any experience our knowledge to share that might explain?

(4s quotes greater talk time though)
