Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Quite enjoyed the singe player campaign, but MP doesn`t agree with me I keep going back to BC2 lol. Will play a bit more and see if I can get to like it, only played like 3 maps so far.
 
Just had an awesome game on the OcUK server. There were only 20-30 people on Bazaar, but everyone was racking up points. I had so many ribbons at the end that it didn't bother to show any of them to me!

Also, MazzaB, I don't know if you use this forum, but if you do, you're dead. I was trying so damn hard to get MVP and you beat me by only a couple of points! :p
 
Anyone got and hints and tips on leveling up? iv put about 3 hours of gameplay in so far, only at rank 7, a lot of people are 20-30 already, they must sit on there computers for hours! im usually top 3 of the scoring sheets on operation metro, the rest of the maps im bottom few.

especially large conquests with vehicles, people who are already rank 20-30 have guided missiles etc and you just get owned which is a bit of a bad thing i think :/

but apart from that, absolutely LOVE battlefield 3, my favorite map is metro though still, and rush is perfered over conquest etc for me.

That isn't what I meant :p.
On BC2 a death is a counted as a death, regardless of whether you are revived (we are talking individual solder stats, not tickets), so the enemy gets a kill and you get a death. The game average of kills to deaths is 1.00.

For BF3 it is like BF2, in that you get killed and receive a death (and the enemy receives a kill) however the death only 'counts' when you are dead and the 'revive me' window expires. Therefore if you are revived you haven't had a death and the enemy has received a kill. The game average of kills top deaths is >1.00.

Good plan, i used assault on the beta all the time, still im using assault, the other thing im not too keen on is all this leveling up mlark to unlock things. would have to play for ever to unlock everything. hmmm
 
By the way, this may have been mentioned already but..

If you find the map too mini map too small or the larger map in fact, press N and it will enlarge it for you ;)

Yep true,

But the one thing im going to complain to EA about for them to fix is, when you have picked a mini map size you want, when you die it doesnt go back to the one you had, it goes fully zoomed in again.

Which if your a air vehicle player, thats no good, you want to see whats happening everywere, and not have to worry about pressing N all the time.


Edit: Also as your giving out tips about the mini map, another tip for everyone to change view in vehicles, press C, took me ageees to find that out :P lol

You can change the zoom level of the map and the size of the map with N and M.
Annoyingly though, it constantly forgets which zoom level you set it to.

press Q to designate objectives.
Play assault and be a super medic reviver and plonk yourself in chokepoints with med kits. easy 30 points every fees seconds.

Cap a lot of areas or even better hover in a helicopter above target for easy heli unlocks/ vehicle unlocks.
 
Getting far too many crashes to desktop losing lots of points when it does. It just says 'Battlefield 3 has stopped working', it's so flaky it feels like a web based flash game that you launch from a browser.
 
just had some brill games on the overclockers server..not played tehran highway before..getting used to new maps is a steep learning curve..got some bad deaths till i sussed my way around...great fun
