Spec me a Rad & check rest :)

First off, I apologise for the mass of questions, so I tried to split it up with some pretty pictures

I think I'm finally getting on with it, and I would like to order my WC system this week, so I can set it up next weekend (hopefully)

I'll be cooling:
2500k
6950 (flashed to 6970) (possibly to Crossfire in the future)
In a HAF-X

What I have so far:

Anyone have any comments on this? Anyway to improve it, without it costing a bomb?

Only thing I'm unsure about, is the radiator (Although I know I'll be getting a triple). How difference in performance is there between the ones at £45-£50, and those that are almost double that?

Would I be ok with one of the cheaper ones with what I'm cooling? I'm pretty sure the cheaper ones wouldn't manage CF, but would the more expensive ones, or would I need to get another rad if I got CF anyway?
From a google, I don't seem to be able to find any recent radiator comparisons, the newest I could see was 2009!

The layout I was planning is this:

Lastly, I was thinking of getting some extra fans to attach tot he bottom of the radiator, in push, to add to the 2x200mm fans I have in the top of the case in pull. Is this a good idea? Which ones should I go for?

Get an XSPC EX rad ad use some gentle typhoons with your HAF x fans for push and pull

Yea, I was leaning towards the typhoons. Just tried to find info about the XSPC EX, doesn't seem to be much available, probably because it's so new, but is there any tests anywhere that actually shows if it provided RX performance?

EDIT: Also, is there any difference in the typhoons? I assume it's best to just get the 1850rpm ones, as I'll be using them on a fan controller anyway?

I've ordered an EX rad to replace my SR1 so I'll let you know in avfew days

However, just look at RX performance as its supposed to be the same

With the typhoons, at full pelt, the 1450 are too loud. TBH, just get the fastest ones at £12. Not really much point getting the 1850 for £9 more each :eek:

For x fire, I would probably add another rad somewhere if possible

Rest of your setup looks good. There are some things I would change, but only for aesthetic purposes. The res I would change to an EK dual bay one or a tube one.

And the tubing to masterkleer

I know it's "supposed" to be the same, but I just wanted to check that it actually is (or atleast similar) before I get one

I highly doubt they'll be quiet at all, even on a fan controller, as on minimum, it'll probably still be running at 2-3k...

You mean one with those spinney things in the front? I'm not so keen, and I wanted a bay res, as it's easier to install in the case than a tube.
As for tubing, do they actually look any different? Or are some more flexible & easier to work with than others?

Wanted slimmer rads for push pull and possibly mounting pumps in the bottom of the TJ07

not certain about this, but I think the 1450's are the best as they can be undervolted to low RPM's (best for silence)

The masterkleer, I believe, is more flexible and a LOT clearer. XSPC ones look a little murky

That's the bay I was meaning, with the spinny thing on the front of the res that spin when the water flows though. Not sure if I like the look of them, but on the other hand, the rest of the res looks nicer, and it could be handy having an indicator to show the water is actually flowing...

Is that really one of the EX ones? looks thicker than I thought it would... And there's always a few that have problems, after all, if I get one, and it's got a hole, I can get it replaced, if that one also has a hole, I'll get a different one.

I've had XSPC tubing and Masterkleer and you're right the Masterkleer is better quality, softer and more bendy. Had to trial it out and learn which is better somehow

That's the RX one. Do those EX ones really give equal cooling as the thicker rads? I'm still waiting on some reviews on them.

Nice, I'll be watching for that. If the EX can beat or equal RX or Thermochills then I'd definately get some. It'd be nice to get some room in the case. I hope it's like they've reached a thermal limit and a fatter EX version is the same because if it was better then I'd be back to square one in terms of rad thickness

do you know when you'll have them & how long it'll take you to do your review?

Don't mean to be pushy, just really looking forward to WCing, and the RAD is the only thing I'm unsure on at the moment.

It's mainly just a comparison with the thicker Rads that I'm interested in, and as it's your first WC kit, you probably won't have the other radiators to compare it to.

Thanks for the offer anyway though, and it would be interesting to know your temps when you get it installed (and what kit you have)

OcUK didn't get their stock

Hopefully it'll be done by next Sunday
