Such thing as a budget performance tyre?

So anyway, are there any good budget performance tyres? I need to buy some tyres soon and don't want to pay over £100 each a corner.

Yeah I had a nosey at those, only 64 quid in my size which makes them appealing.

I have T1R's on all around at the mo. They're ok in the dry but not in the wet! But from reading around, my car is useless in the wet any way. But, T1R's are 88 quid for mine on Camskill! Quite a difference if the Kumho's are as comparable as the KU31's were.

Let us know how you get on with the KU39's :)

You are actually going to take advice from Relentless?

Personally I think the T1R fits the definition of a budget performance tyre quite well. I doubt your going to find any of the budget tyres give signifigantly better performance in the wet. The simple advice would just be not to press on as hard in the wet.

If you do want wet weather performance have you considered the uniroyal rainsports?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douche

It's a sexual health thing. Douche bag refers to just the bag part, not the nozel. They can be used like enemas as well before bum sex fun times, you will find them on porn sets and the like and I'm sure gay men could use them from time to time, but I don't know about that side of things.

Didn't realise how well it is described :

Slang uses

Douche bag, or simply douche, is considered to be a pejorative term. The slang usage of the term originated in the 1960s.[5] The term usually refers to a person, usually male, with a variety of negative qualities, specifically arrogance and engaging in obnoxious and/or irritating actions

I aren't hugely up on who is who on here lol.

The T1R's are ok, don't get me wrong. I don't hoon it in the wet but traction wise they let go really easily, I don't hammer around corners or anything in the wet as it's too easy to get it wrong.

I just expected T1R's to be cheaper in my size but they're not :( 205/45/17's I need.

Same size as me. £450 for 4 now, i paid £390.

Hankook V12, I have them, SS has them too on his Clio sport and i am sure a few others as well.

Although they are apparently not great in the snow...

T1Rs are decent for grip in both wet and dry in my experience. However the sidewalls are like jelly and ruin handling IME

I would agree with this, I fitted them on my 2.2 Astra Coupe and althouh they gave good grip in all conditions (suprisingly even on ice when combined with the ridiculously over the top traction control) they certainly felt like jelly.

Apparently its all about the weight of the car, I've been considering them for my mx-5 and they seem to be a popular tyre with no complaints of soft sidewalls on any of the owners forum.

Your size does seem to be an expensive one, if you want to save money there probably arent many choices better than the Kumhos.

Just a quick post to say I got 2 x 205/45/17 88Y XL Kumho Ecsta Sport KU39's fitted today for £140 locally which I thought was a very reasonable deal compared to everywhere else around here.

So far, not scrubbed in but quieter, smoother and more comfortable than the T1-R's and seemed fine on the greasy roads, if they turn out to be as good as the T1-R's for grip, if not better, then I will put some on the fronts when the time comes.

Locally the cheapest for T1-R's was 100 quid a corner fitted.

I aren't saying they're the best things since sliced bread though am I, I am saying for that kind of money they seem very good.

I wouldn't call them ditch finders, we aren't all as rich or drive quite as hard as your good self Mr. Fox :p
