Well last night one of the college allumni put loads of money on the college bar so everyone drank for free all night. The queue was mental though so I couldn't be bothered going.

Indeed, back in the hayday of hedge funds, etc. it wasn't unusual to see people throwing down 10grand in a night in high end clubs. I'm still not sure what the motivation is for buying a round for everyone but seen it happen a few times, I'm guesing they "hit the jackpot" trading, etc. that day.

Not talking about 10 grand but me and my gf together must have spend around £1800 between the 2 of us in the casino last Friday night. Stupid ? Yes. Throwing money down the drain? Probably. Do millions of people do it? Yes. Buying a round for everyone is not uncommon, specially if you're celebrating something, you may also note Czechs might be more generous then us English so it might be even more common there then here.

been to a wedding where the father of the bride stuck 2k behind the bar and everyone had free drinks for aslong as it lasted.

all the grooms chav scum family were ordering multiple treble vodka and cokes and sitting at tables with 5+ drinks to each person.

loads of people kept apologising on behalf of the chav scum bags who were purely taking advantage , the guy was to nice a chap to say anything

i can go out for under 50quid and that includes a takeaway and a taxi home lol

helps if you can get in most clubs for free from knowing the bouncers though

well at my dad wedding he put £1500 behind the bar for first few round of drinks (quite high end hotel) and it got every one 3-4 drinks each was about 60-70 people that lasted quite a while

but unlike other post it wasent abused every one just orderd what they normaly would still cost me like £100 for the night tho (long very drunk night)
