what was the model jag Topgear took to scotland and back?

Clarkson said it was the comfiest drive he's ever had. But it was years ago and i cant remember the model. Can someone enlighten me?

I believe it was an Audi A8? He drove it to Edinburgh and back on a single tank.

Yup. The Scotland trip was in an Audi A8.

From Basel to Blackpool for the illuminations. That was an XJ, with a 4.2 Supercharged engine.

And the other was the new XJ-R, when he raced ''god'' from West to East England, against the sunrise times.

Yeah he took an XJR to John O Groats.

I can think of 3 occasions for the XJ:

Drove the 2010 Jaguar XJ Supersport from Lands End to Lowestoft to beat the sunrise

Drove a 2008 Jaguar XJ TDVI from somewhere in Europe to Blackpool for economy

Drove a 2003 Jaguar XJR from somewhere in the Midlands to John O'Groats to drive 'until he got bored'
