Hey,

Couldn't see a section of the forum for peripherals so...

Currently have me a Logitech G5...Its been a good mouse, But had it for ages now and would like something newer/better.

Id like something with a higher DPI and preferably of a Ergonomic desighn,Yet still be great for FPS gaming...oh and must be wired!

My max budget is £50,id love it if i can get both a decent mouse and gaming mat for that?

Any suggestions?
thanks!

Ergonomic...as in this kind of shape, More comfortable for the hand to sit on. ;)

Just wondering if anyone has a similar gaming mouse like that shape they would recommend, and is in my budget!

If you like to fit your whole hand (and i mean your WHOLE hand) on the mouse (unless you have shovels for hands), get the Razer Deathadder. Amazing mouse. Nice texture, good build quality, and it flashes Blue xD. Bargain for under £50

M705 or G9x (both by Logitech) are worth looking into. The M705 is very similar to the VX Revolution, the mouse in the image you posted. The G9x is the mouse I currently use and I love it. I used a VX Revolution until about 6 months ago when it was stolen (along with my laptop). I replaced it with the G9x as the VX Rev was no longer in production, and haven't had any complaints at all. If you use the same grip as me, neither will you. I use a sort of palm grip with my middle finger on the right click, with my 3rd and 4th fingers gently resting on the sides of the mouse, dragging on the table slightly. The G9x comes with two grips and I use the smaller of the two.

EDIT: just noticed the requirement that the mosue be wired. That rules the M705 out. The G9x has a nice braided cable.

The DeathAdder is nicely shaped, but I wouldn't say it was ergonomic like the example above. The placement of the buttons on the DA mean that your hand will sit backwards off the mouse a bit, so it feels a little too short in reality. Great sensor for gaming, but not the most comfortable I think.

I'm about to change mine to a Logitech G400, seems to sit nicer on the hand and is better made. My Deathadder double clicks all the time and despite my best efforts, I can't fix it without a new part, which Razer didn't want to help with, nor offer any advice at all bar buying a new one. Not good enough for an 18 month old mouse. It did go wrong under warranty, but because of Royal Mail, it never arrived on time (3 month delivery lol) and was returned to me, so OcUK refused to honour the already opened RMA. Warranty is void now anyway because I tried to fix it, but there you go. I still hear people are having the double click issues, which is just not good enough. Get Logitech instead.

Definitely R.A.T. 7.

Have one myself. Plenty of people have walked into my room and found it interesting purely from an ergonomic perspective.

The sheer volume of adjustability means you can change it to match your handsize perfectly.

Steelseries ikari is more comfortable than the razer deathadder (I've used both).

Honestly I think the ss ikari is the most comfortable mouse available, and I've used numerous logitechs and razers.

I haven't tried any of those RATs though.

Id have to +1 to the RAT5, I owned one for a short period before I realised I just threw £50 at a mouse when I didnt even have a graphics card capable of playing games to fully utilise it.

Im looking at getting the Deathadder because of the deal thats currently on with the boogie pad :)

I have the CM Sentinel Advance and it feels very comfy in my hands. I've tried the Razer DeathAdder and it wasn't very comfy at all. The Saitek mices however look like they fit the bill, you can adjust pretty much everything to your liking.
