Hey peeps - I'm sure this has already been asked, but can't find a tangible answer... I've got an EVGA GTX 580 1.5GB and was thinking about getting another one for BF3, however am a little bit skeptical as I've heard there's a major VRAM limitation in them, which would suggest a 3GB card is preferential. I have a 30 inch monitor and like to play at 2560 x 1600 res, and if I had another GTX 580 would want to max everything out to Ultra. Is this feasible or is there a bit of a brick wall with VRAM in this instance?

Muchos gracias in advance etc. :)

does it run on ultra and how you want it with one card?

if yes and your not changing your resolution and not changing settings i dont see why not, you will just get more fps :D

If you want to truly 'max' everything, and are playing at 2560x res, you'll need to opt for the 3gb cards.

Thanks for the tip. Have heard in the event of there not being enough vid memory the cards will use system memory - is this true and would it substantially impact FPS in a rig such as mine?

On another front I've only had this GTX 580 for a month or so - has anyone used the EVGA "step-up" thing where you can go for a new card within your initial purchase period? Might be one way of moving to the 3GB card setup...

Cheers :)
