Completely agree. Ruined the games for me, especially as the monsters didn't come into play until the end.

There was a new main character introduced in 2, but I wouldn't have thought that Naughty Dog will have made it necessary to have played the second to follow the story.

Some recurring characters i think but its standalone. Still, why wouldn't you want to play one of the best games on the ps3. Get it now since its cheap in time for 3.

Mine got dispatched at 3pm yesturday from game, 1-2 working days so may turn up today but may be tomorrow, had to cancel an earlier preorder and re ordered yesturday morning, cant wait!! Its a shame sooo many gamers look right past this series as its an exclusive but nevermind
