How often do you all clean your bikes, saturday was the first time i just couldnt be bothered after the ride, just put some fork juice on the forks and shock to get any crap away from the seals and that was it.

That's all that's actually important - making sure all the crap is away from the seals.

Sometimes I'll clean it straight after a ride, every ride for a while.. other times I'll just leave it be for months.

It all really depends on how much is going on/how rushed I am.

I'm not convinced that overcleaning/cl;eaning evey time you ride is a good thing. Cleaning it so often gets rid of the grease and so forth, so unless you do a propper job every time (not just chainlube, but actual grease in the headtube/BB/etc) then I don't think it's such a good idea. I might however be wrong :p

Actually found some good red and blue trails near me, along national route 6, some quite technical rock features that even i didnt fancy trying.

no your right it's not good for your bike but i can't help it , i have stopped cleaning the bb everytime but i make sure i do it at least once a month and do a rebuild every six includes taking apart cleaning and lubing and replacing parts (this was when i was riding 30 offroad miles a day pretty much everyday)but now i'm doing less riding at the moment i don't think i will do any cleaning for at least six months.

I had my first go on my stinky today, I am SHATTERED :) it rained all day as well so didn't feel to comfy. need to buy full face :)

Attention!

Ichabod_Jane and myself are planning a riding weekend in Scotland for 2 weeks time, Friday 11th Nov - Sunday 13th.

Currently it's just us two, with Matt_fsr possibly coming.

We will be riding any or all of the following 7stanes trail centres: Dalbeattie, Mabie, Ae, Kirroughtree and the trails at Drumlanrig.

We will hopefully be sleeping in a wigwam, here http://www.7stanes.com/mabie-house-pods-i601628.html I am yet to ring them to enquire about availability.

Does anyone else fancy coming along? Locals could meet up for a bit or if anyone fancies riding a bit longer then you could stay at the wigwam and obviously chip in some of the cost.

We've been on a few mini OcUK-meet rides at Glentress/Innerleithen before, the pace is usually relaxed so if you're anxious that you'll be playing catch up on the hills, don't worry :p

Had a good day on the uplift at Cwmcarn yesterday - It had rained before we got there so it was very very wet :P

Obligatory helmetcam vid (crash included):

The reason the video isn't a blur of mud is because of my RRP mudguard - I would recommend.
I have more videos, including the new middle section and the old DragonDH track, I might upload them later if I can be bothered :P

Looking fast there misterpubiclice!

Update for anyone who's interested; I have now booked a hut at the above link (Mabie House Hotel) for 2 nights - 11th and 12th November.

It sleeps 4, 2 of us are confirmed going at the moment with 1 other person possibly coming, so that's 1 space left if anyone is interested. There could be 2 spaces free, just waiting for confirmation :)

I really need to move to Scotland... :(

Cwmcarn is one of the only places in the UK that rides pretty much the same in the wet as it does in the dry. You never need wet tyres on at Cwmcarn, that's for sure.
Say whaatt??
Maybe it's just me but Cwmcarn is much faster in the dry (or moderately dry) than in the wet... Or maybe I'm just faster in the dry...:D
