11.10 Catalyst drivers now available

Well been on BF3 for about two hours after installing 11.10 and when i quit out of game it gave me a BSOD  i have not that in about two years now.

Also game seems to crash back to desk top this was also before and after 11.10

Still got mouse stutter with 11.10 whql. And now have another issue with crossfire...vsync sticks at 50 instead of 60, disable CF it reads back to 60 but with some serious underscan (black border around the game). Though at high my mouse stutter is gone on one card.

And strangely enough fifa12 now gives me underscan too (yes under/overscan is adjusted in CCC).

Another driver fail for AMD :(

Had stuttering mouse as well but turned out to be issue with my board having USB turbo switched on in bios which robs 8 lanes of your PCI express which I know is no big deal but for ME was the root of all my problems.

Also check your multypliers for CPU are correct as a bios revision caused me similar problems in past.

And if you are OC CPU do it in bios as windows based OC utilities can also cause problem.

Its amazing how much a STABLE PC can in fact be diagnosed by stuttering mouse syndrome.

Crossfire still doesn't perform as well as a single card for me, playing this on max on a 5870 with a bareable 25-35 fps on maps like Caspian Border, if i encounter an fps spike, i'll just either turn down shadows, mesh, motion blur or deferred aa.

This stuttering mouse whats been talked about. Could this be whats causing screen stutter I get when moving left and right in Crisis 2? I have two ATI 5850s in crossfire BTW.

Thanks maxzuk I'll look into that, the oc is set in BIOS, even tried disabling HT to no improvements, still have a hunch its down to my TV, going to get a 24" 120hz 'real' monitor at the end of the week. Firstly though I'm going to do a complete flush of my drivers.

So worth installing over the V3 preview driver?

I only got BF3 last night so can't really compare properly but is was super smooth with these, probably the same FPS but better "feel"

On a side note is anyone having the BF3 executable hanging when trying to change video settings?

I think these are better than the preview 3, my minimums are noticeably higher going from 33 to 41 in heaven.

this is why i might stick and buy a 560 TI instead of a 6950.
It's the drivers what are putting me off from buying one,nVidia's are very easy to use

Nvidia have their own driver issues right now http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2202384 ,end of the day no company is perfect.

I use drivers from both sides, however in general no serious issues for gaming so go with either side video card wise.

11.10 working fine ,just installed them.

Only time I ever had driver issues was with a factory overclocked Nvidia card,so most times its not the actual driver but something else.

I'll give them a blast then.

Are you selecting 'set resolution' or whatever it's called after changing settings? That causes an exe hang for me but you can select the 'back' option and it will prompt you to say if you want the changes saved and that works fine for me.

Installed, running perfectly without any errors, bsods etc...
As someone else in this thread stated, any errors or bsods are usually the fault of the end user not the actual driver.

Yup does this for me aswell, its about the only fault i can find, and it definately didnt do it with the previous drivers either :( Rather annoying tbh

Installed, thanks for the heads up.

Remember to reset all the settings back to factory default after upgrading, this can prevent problems. Also do yourself a massive favour and turn off all the Advanced Video Colour and Advanced Video Quality settings. All they do is molest the source video and make it a blurry pastel mess. You can thank me later. :p

Thanks for that :)

so do you think i will make the right choice to go with ATI 6950 at christmas then? instead of nVidia this time?

As far as I'm concerned you can't go wrong with either AMD or Nvidia,as I have stated I use cards and boards from both sides and not had any gaming problems.

I'll say go with 2GB version since its more futureproof .
