11.10 Catalyst drivers now available

I only got BF3 last night so can't really compare properly but is was super smooth with these, probably the same FPS but better "feel"

On a side note is anyone having the BF3 executable hanging when trying to change video settings?

Yes, I got quite a few hangs when modifying video settings. I think I found a work-around which was to use the "Apply Full Screen Resolution" button first.

I get hangs without fail when changing Video settings, so i Alt Enter, then change video settings while in window mode, apply, save and Alt Enter back to full screen.

This guy also suggested this.....

I found that if you switch off deferred AA this stops the problem.

I also found once this had happened that the game struggled to load up. You can fix it by deleting the BF3 folder in your my documents (this stores the GPU settings and will force the game to auto detect again).

Once auto detect runs again and it sets it's own settings everything works fine. Go in and select custom and switch off deferred AA.

Worked for me

These drivers have worked wonders for me with Crossfire 6870's, roughly 15-20fps difference and no random slowdowns in BF3.

Thanks for the heads up Thundy :D

I also went back to previews, kinda annoying when the guy who makes the drivers said on he's twitter account that these are the same as preview 3's pretty much. This has been a **** month for drivers, i dont really like using beta/previews but they seem to be the best option right now. Just hope when Skyrim is out we will have a good working driver to use.

This is getting ridiculous now. Before (with 11.10 cap4) I was JUST having mouse stutter issues. Now after a fresh CCC and CAP install, I'm getting similar issues to the rest of you, change video settings, the game hangs, occasional hang on start up (crash at EA/Dice screen 2 from 4 attempts).

On the other side of the coin I might have sorted the scaling issue, which was my fault, AMD changed how overscan is applied in 11.10. Also while digging about I found 11.10 had set my refresh to 50hz (hence the 50 frame vsync) despite the screen and BF3 reporting 60hz. Changed to 60 and now reports 60 at vsync.

Still have the jerky mouse movements however, it is worse indoors. Though its not evident at all while in a tank/aircraft, so I suspect this may be more an issue with the game than drivers?

Edit: It hasn't made rage blue for me, but its giving me a hell of allot of screen ripping for a 60 frame cap.

This is the kind of mouse stutter/lag call it what you will I get with BF3:

only thing i've noticed with these drivers/new caps is that a lot of other games, 1 of my 3 gpu's is only reaching 70% usage in every other game apart from bf3... in bf3 these run smooth, but i've had to downclock vram since the previews as i get checkerboard lockups again :(

Thanks, Alt-Enter to window, set options, works a treat

Running super smooth on 5850 CF.

Anyone else getting the blue screen when switching to use crossfire? If not, i can announce my 5970 is officially ******.

When I was playing with 6950 2gb card I could play game perfectly on pretty much ultra settings, with no jittering /lag etc. now that I've added second card...which is identical, updated to get 11.9 cap 4 etc.. it still jerks and jitters... any ideas? also what info should i be seeing in the AMD crossfire config secion..for performance and games.. thanks
