** OFFICIAL Football Manager 2012 Thread **

My assistant manager does my press interviews because I'm too lazy :p

Things like that are a ball ache, do pretty much everything else myself.

Mehuk I'm not going to say you're missing out half the game. You're actually missing about 95% of it, no wonder you suck :p

Probably, but its a side of the game I dislike.. just dont see the point, I dont want to be a football manager for real, just like the basic aspect of it all.

One team will work eventually, they always do - the problem is the first season as I promise them the world just to get the max money... id do it if I was Arsenal or flippin Swansea :D

I mean that Arsenal team would have probably clicked eventually, you hve to put up with that stupid team building/getting to know each other muck in this version... that slows things down, but they would have been alright in the end I reckon as id made a dream team and would have added the key pieces in the summer to finish it off (assuming id have the cash) :p

The thing is....that's what makes it a challenge.

If everyone settled immediately, any tactic worked, the expensive players were always the best....then it would just be click continue to win, there would be nothing else to it.

Pretty much this, try doing the tutorial and see if you can enjoy the other aspects of the game.

The only thing about the newer games I don't like is the 3D match thing, I'm a commentary man

My AssMan does the press talks, arranges friendlies and controls the team for the friendlies. Everything else I do, especially the team talk as you get much better results yourself.

Going to start an Arsenal save in a bit.

Had a play around with fm12 with villa

1st season 4th
2nd season 7th + league cup win

No money to spend, villa are solid. Will come back to them at some point.

Do you only look at the commentary? I reckon I'd find it quite difficult just the commentary as I don't think I could read it fast enough - I always watch it through the Classic 2D mode on the quickest speed - nice to see what the goals (I concede) look like!

Thats why I keep playing as I like the challenge of it. Its harder playing the game my way ;)

You just have to look at the SI forums to find a few 'easy tactics' or the corner glitch which appears to be rearing its head again... or all the wonderkids that you know are going to be awesome no matter what... or what team talk to use at what time depending on the score etc

@Tummy - ive looked at the new bits, had a go previously but i was there for about an hour just trying to set thigns up... chat to players, assign trainings etc I cant be doing with that, i get annoyed if my season takes more than 5/6 hours to complete

Each to their own though, i enjoy the way I play the game and keep coming back to it, as although it has advanced 1000% on what it was... the same old CM can be found behind all the fluff. Where as I understand why you and others like all the extra stuff, for realism etc its just not my cup of tea.

Years of practice

An hour setting things up? :p You were quick! I take ****ing ages setting my first game up as a team. I'm much quicker after (As I make a save of the team with just the basic things I'd do done) but I take a very long time doing the set up, I tend to wizz through my seasons quite quickly though once things are set up as I like them.

Well loving this so far, in my first season as manager of Spurs and it's January now and i am sitting in 6th place.

Just had a pretty uneventful game agianst stoke, brought VdV on with 10minutes to go and he scores this screamer right before the full time whistle.

Quality is pretty poor, first time uploading through the game client.

He just smashed another 30 yarder in straight of the crossbar into the back of the net and beat Arsenal 3-1 woohoo!

Wanted a challenge, so I activated 10 leagues, Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland and Spain, and I need to win all the cups in these countries (so for England, EPL, League Cup, Carling Cup, Community Shield). I Have 2/3 leagues activated for each country, but lower league trophies don't count. Then for a team, I wanted to press restart 5 times and chose 1 of the teams I get. Team MUST NOT BE PREDICTED TOP 5. I got Padova, Morton, TSV Einthrecht, Moreirensa and Petersbrough. I went for Padova for now, and hopefully, start playing in higher leagues soon (even if I move clubs!)

Can anybody please give me links for

1. 2011/12 logo pack (so not old ones please) including lower leagues, AND WITHOUT ANY BACKGROUNDS.
2. 2011/12 face pack (so not people with old kits) including lower leagues, and WITHOUT ANY BACKGROUND.
3. 2011/12 kits
4. Some kick *** skins!

I'm really tempted to give Leicester / Brighton a go after I get bored of my Manchester United save.

Just coming up to the end of Feb '11 on my United game, enjoying it very much.

I wouldn't say my squad have had a poor perfromance or poor form at any point, good rotation, few injuries have really helped me get an amazing run together.

I've only really had to give on bollocking out too, against a dull first half against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

What a comeback from my boys! Lost the previous leg 3-0 away and won 4-0 at home!

As you can see, even if not clearly, 3 screamers for goals and a lovely header to header.
