New Rig, PSU seems to have gone boom.

I have put in an RMA, well two actually because I had put one in for the PSU just before seeing the thing about the RAM.

I am hoping they can combine them into one. :)

Have you told them you want to return the RAM under the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR)?

They won't accept it back as a normal RMA because it isn't faulty so you you need to quote the DSR which entitles you to return it for a full refund no questions asked.

Cant go wrong with the Corsair PSUs
Yeah I was looking at this one:

Not much more.

No, forgot to include it. I'll see what they say.

Are you wanting a PSU for SLI or future upgrades because that's major overkill for what you're running now.

You could run what you have now with a PSU half the price.

In fact the 600W PSU you're using now could well be enough depending on the particular model.

I was thinking more for a future upgrade maybe to SLI. :)

AX850 would be a better choice at that price range, but it can also be had for a bit cheaper if you have good google-fu skills! ;)

850 w is enough for GTX 570 SLI, even 580 SLI if you don't run Furmark. :)

Not that having some overhead is good, that is a lot.

Planning on Tri SLI? :D

haha, So maybe I went a little overboard on the Wattage. ;)

I am very out of touch with computer hardware now, it's been a while since I built one.

Just packed the PSU and the RAM back in the boxes and hoping they get back to me today.

Post your request(s) in the CS section. 5UB is very quick with these things usually :)
As Surveyor said earlier, make sure you specify the RMA conditions(return under DSR for RAM and replacement/refund for the PSU)

So ironically, the fact your PSU went boom turned out to be for the best, saved you money and headaches in the long run :)

haha, Yeah maybe that's a way to look at it. lol

I posted in the customer service part in hopes that it will improve my chances of getting an RMA number today. lol

I feel as though the Royal Mail have just robbed me... lol

£22.70 to send it back and the cheapest option was 15 quid but would take ages.

Damn heavy power supplies!! lol

Did you post it after getting the rma?
I posted my 3.4kg psu for less than a tenner with recorded!
How heavy was the package?

Yeah I got the RMA and put it on the box :)

It was 5.6kg, that was just the PSU repacked and the RAM I am also sending back.

I didn't dare try it plugging it in again before I sent it so let's hope it actually is broke.. lol. It did have the smell of burning too it :)

unless I'm mistaken(which I more than likely am), ocuk should refund the return cost for the psu if it is faulty(which it should be if it went bang and smoke/smell etc). the ram on the other hand think I've read under dsr ocuk don't have to refund the return cost.

Well I will ask them about the postage thing, Even a partial refund on postage would be better than nothing. lol
