So all that talk about PC being the lead platform, all the way up to launch was lies. So what we ended up with was a sub par console port. I feel sorry for those who shelled out hundreds of pounds to play this on a high end PC or new graphics card.

You just have to look at the size of the maps and flag placement to see this and average graphics which you can see in the jets in particular.

this has been posted in every other BF3 thread

seriously who gives a toss ???? either play the game and enjoy it or dont.. simple

if you have played the console versions you can quite clearly see the pc version is superior by several magnitudes, ITS NOT LESS OF A PC GAME BECAUSE ITS NOT BF2, settle down, enjoy the game or GTFO.

This graphics even look pretty good set to low.. My brothers pc is one of the orginal quad cores with 4gb ram and ati 4870 and set to Auto it has quite a few things set to high! And still runs perfectly smooth. A big credit to the engine scaling, Although i thought it was funny all the talk about how it wont even run unless you have x y and z before release..

Doesn't really matter, it's well optimised on PC and looks miles better than the consoles.

Always said it was console port after seeing the map design .

That explains the lack of PC specific features, poor squad management, no in game ping, no VOIP, no spectator mode, no battlerecorder, no sensitivity settings for vehicles and aircraft, poor flight mechanics and control that do not suit a mouse at all, mediocre joystick support, joke commo-rose, massive HUD for vehicles/aircraft, all standard PC features missing or poorly implemented.

I see this is following the usual pattern of big releases:

1. Game gets announced, everyone gets hyped and it's savoured as the darling of PC gaming

2. More details get announced, everyone is like "OMG no point getting this on console, pc FT.W

3. Game is released, doesn't quite live up to expectations, PC crowd blame consoles.

thing is you do need a very good pc to run it at a decent framerate at very good settings.

playable and very good is a whole different ballpark.

Yawn.. Another thread with people displaying ignorance over what a port is or isn't...

As an example... Moving workforce to focus on another version of the game is not porting.

No they changed development focus to consoles, why do you think the PC is missing many standard PC features and features that are implemented poorly and look rushed. Compare the maps to BF2, BF2 maps were built for 64 players, BF3 maps are not.

Well its the best 'console port' I've ever played.

Plus I would never play FPS on a console anyway, keyboard and mouse are the only way to go.

I would like a patch to adress some of the issues Raven mentioned.

I have hopes most of this will be addressed via patches.

technically BF3 is the best game out there but gameplay wise it's still inferior to a 2004 game because of the lack of features
