GTX 560ti SLi v GTX 580

If you have the 560ti Sli it will out perform the 580 be a fare margin.

But......

Don't forget in Sli your PC will only recognise 1024mb of video memory.

There are good and bad points about both of those options.

560ti sli will out perform the 580 and will cost you a lot less.

The 580 costs a lot more but you have slightly less quality than 2 560's

If it was me then I would go with the 560ti sli option, but then im Bias as i have my cards
in Sli.

Mobo: Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

By the way i haven't actually got any of these yet, but these are the parts i have eyed up and pretty much made up my mind on.
And i have been pondering about getting the 2gb versions of the cards instead of the 1gb.

There is no point in getting the 2Gb version m8 as you won't have 4Gb of
graphics card memory, you would only still have 2Gb of memory.

As the PCI express ports cant handle that amount of memory at any one time
through the ports so it works by doing the following.

The top card will render the top half of the frame rate and the lower card will
handle the bottom half of the frame rate, something like that. But still it wont
show as you having 4Gb as it physically cant do it.

I would suggest just saving the money and getting the 1Gb versions.

Okay. Would having 2gb cards help with extra 'eye candy' in games? Or would there not be too much difference between 2gb and 1gb?

You wont notice a difference to be honest m8, I have the Msi 460Gtx Hawk Edition Sli
and they are bother 1Gb version and play BF3 on ultra settings no problems.

So I know you wont notice any difference m8 if mine are great.

Well, depends what resolution you're playing at? You can't just compare like that.

Yeh your right it will depend on what resolution you play at. I currently play at
1680x1050, thats only cous my next upgrade is a new monitor though lol.

At the end of the day m8 its totally up to you what cards you get we can just
advise you on what we think would be best for the situation that you have stated.

I'm playing at 1920x1080. Yeh, thats why i post here, i like getting other peoples opinions on things and seeing what they think lol

Personally I'd always go for a single card set up, and the 580 should be plenty powerful at that res. Single card is less effort, less power, less noise...

get the 580, as above poster mentioned, great at 1080p with good settings in most games. In the future SLI is always an option. Plays BF3 very well at decent settings

Dont get a 1gb card if gaming at 1080p resolutions. BF3 already uses 1.5gb in some places at 1080p and it goes upto 2gb in others. If you're looking for a new card now, More Vram the better
