Anyone had any luck picking up an item from a post office depot without a delivery card?

I called RM they said it "should" be ok... =/

Should be okay although I wouldn't try it at my depot, they had to make 3 phone calls before they realised they could accept ParcelForce parcels with postage labels printed off online .

I've generally just had to go in and give my address at our local sorting office/depot when i've forgotten the card for stuff.

However I think in theory they are meant to ask for some sort of ID, so driving licence or similar should be fine in case you need proof of name/address (assuming you've kept your licence up to date).

Funny you say that Werewolf, I've never been challenged before picking any undelivered parcels up before, not once, even though they have a pretty big sign saying Photographic ID will be required before any parcel is released.

to the OP, not sure mate, I've always had the red slip bit :)

Totally depends who you get. You could go in tomorrow and a different bloke will be at the counter that will hand it straight over. Any problems ask to speak to a manager, they normally sort it out.

You could just phone up if the above doesn't work and then re-schedule a delivery :p

Problem with re-scheduling delivery is I'm not going to be in then I'm going down to England for a few days and really want to pick it up before I go. My only option now is to get it redelivered to the local PO and hope they let me have it there.

If you've made the arrangement in advance to say that you will be there to pick it up on X day then I see no reason why they shouldn't just let you pick it up, you've effectively just asked them to hold a parcel for you. That's just a logical approach though so I'm not going to guarantee that is what will happen.

Just out of interest, how do you know that delivery was definitely attempted if they didn't leave a card?
