Fairly obvious to you it seems as you have presumably swallowed the Western propaganda that they want to acquire a nuke and then bomb Israel?

I presume therefore that you have some sort of ground breaking inside information which disproves the general concencous then?

Or we are just using the tried and tested method of declaring anything Western government or media says as 'propaganda' and everything found on obscure websites and youtube videos as 'gospel truth'?

Do you think they are stupid enough to do that, given they would be WIPED OUT by a swift US response?

I wouldn't put anything past a government which thinks violence against the winners of a general election is the correct way to retain power.

Without wanting to fully engage in this thread, I would point out that Iran do not have a history of attacking other nations, historically they are a defensive rather than offensive nation, rhetoric aside of course.

They are fully within their rights to seek a civlian nuclear power generation policy. It is not really for us, the United States or Israel to dictate to them what they should and should not do as long as all three are nuclear powers themselves.

Just readily available info, not groundbreaking :(

And Iran has never attacked Britain nor threatend to.

For that matter, nor has Iraq, nor has Afghanistan.

I think a few people from an organisation based in and supported by the old regime in Afghanistan did attack our closest ally in rather spectacular fashion (after having attacked a warship and a few embassy previously) and in the course of doing so killed 100 or so British people... then carried on making threats to carry out more attacks... and did so...

Iran has regularly attacked our forces and supplied weapons to people attacking our forces for the past decade, also the small matter of threatening to wipe Israel off the map and actively developing nuclear weapons....

Iraq probably should have been finished off the first time round after invading Kuwait - still its probably best overall that Saddam was overthrown.

Tbh... it doesn't even need to be in our direct interests for certain events to be better for the world in general - Bin Laden, Gaddafi and Saddam being dead is a pretty good thing over all IMO.

We may not often agree, but I think I agree with all of this particular post :)

Iran has not threatened to wipe Israel off the map, they were wilfully mis translated. Seems like you bought it.

Just because they were democratically elected does not excuse them of their actions.
Well, actually, to a degree it does. We live in a representative democracy, we elect our leadership to make decisions on our behalf, therefore lending legitimacy to decisions they make.

Why would they be 'willfully' mis-translated when the translation came from the IRIA - owned by Iran!

There was certainly a lot of backtracking after the comments were published, in English, (by them) and of course a translation isn't always going necessarily scan well but it would be naive to believe there wasn't an implied threat at the least.

The monthly weapons deliveries to Hezbollah would perhpas be a more unambiguous reflection of Iran's policies towards Israel than trying to debate the intended meaning of a translation.

I lend them no legitimacy. I consider them traitors, guilty of treason.

Well Cameron can stay in the list since he only got into power because of the coalition with the Liberal Democrats.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, will stop Israel from launching its war which was planned decades ago. If you buy into all the bull****, well, God help you.

Iran is the last piece in the modern crusade, mydinnerjacket would love to take on the USA/UK hes a spokesman for postive religion action.

I hope they don't. But yes it seems inevitable.

And they don't give A **** about a single Palestinian life, whether it be man, woman or child.
