Im looking to build my first pc and i have a budget of around £1500 this is just for the hardware and not for windows and peripherals. Im looking to use it to play games like skyrim and to do HD video encoding. Apart from that I seem to fill hard drives with little effort and as a result all ready have 4 1tb ones full :p .

beejjacobs spec looks good. Though i think you could do with the i7 2600k/2700k as you are 'HD video encoding'. You can afford it with your budget too.

That is the only thing id change with the above spec.

Needs a bigger PSU if future SLI was required.

i7 is better than the i5 for encoding and video editing tasks but it depends how much of that you do on whether you think it is worth going for it or not.

HDD prices are extremely high at the mo so id wait till they come down imo but if you can i specced you a 2TB one to keep you going.

Something like that, SLI GTX580 needs a 850W or higher PSU, 750W is what GTX570's in SLI need.
