Some people think it's pefectly legal to run lights on a bike.

Luckily I've found in Edinburgh that it is a rarity, as of yet.

Only twice I've seen it happen personally. And the rest of the cyclists I have seen stopped at the lights. :)

That's because anyone with an ounce of common sense doesn't drive in Edinburgh, they walk or crawl on their hands and knees, both being faster than taking the car :/

Occasionally I'll filter through a red light on my cycle to work but only when it is 100% safe to do so.

Same, the amount of time you just sit at the light with no cars around it's blooming annoying, and some of the lights are not even needed just waste of time and money. This is around my area.
Horrible timed as well.

I commute to work and back via bike every day, and I swear to God it actually seems like I'm the only cyclist in Manchester that actually knows what a red light is. Every single time I'm sat at one waiting for it to go green some luminous spandex wearing goon flies past me at 20MPH straight into a busy junction.

It's a waste of energy if I stop for lights and nobody is there. Go cycling through a town for a month and see how hard it is to bother stopping after a while.

You would think. But with the tram works and seemingly more cars on the road, it's just getting ridiculous.

As a cyclist i have to cycle through about 15 lights on my way to work, i will regularly go through 3 of them on the way to work, the other 12 i'll happily wait at.
The reason i do it is for my safety, i'll only go through a light if there are no pedestrians and no cars and 0% chance of me causing an accident. I'll do it because if i sit and wait for the green light i'll have 2-3 buses behind me trying to get passed me or run me over. It is only a 200-300metre stretch of road, but the bus drivers are idiots at times.
If i go through the lights i'll be able to get to the end of the road before a bus gets near me.

Flame away!

I hate when I'm walking over the road and a cyclist appears out of nowhere like a bat out of hell and I have to do some freaky disco moves to get out the way. All of that and it's a red light and a green man.

Hahahaa beautifully put. I just walk even slower now. If they are going to hit me, I'll just punt their back wheel. :)

RAAAAAAAAAGE.

Cyclists not giving way on roundabouts is annoying, they just continue straight across thinking they don't take up any space.

If that happened to me I would literally kick them off. My mate nearly got flattened by one the other day. He was way too polite to the silly bint that steamed into him.

For the record I ride a bike and have ridden a motor bike too, and drive a car.

I see this all the time in London (this morning as a matter of fact). The other day a guy I work with got fined for doing it. He tried to lie to the copper about having no ID so she told him to open his bag and there were his business cards with his name on, so he was moaning about not being able to give a fake name (he gave a fake address though - he is from Essex after all :P).

Ah, the weekly we hate cyclists debate.

Why can't we agree that all users of roads, cycle lanes and shared pavement areas have a minority that abuse the rules.

Yes, some cyclists do jump red lights but then so do some car drivers. Don't we always see warnings about car drivers jumping level crossings too? Car drivers parking in cycle lanes and pedestrians walking in marked cycle areas of pavements displays a lack of awareness or an ignorance.

Despite the fact it is illegal no cyclist seems to be aware of it.

I hate cyclists though, the road is for engines.

The few times I have been a cyclist I've been terrified that a car could hit me so I continued to ride on the pavement, despite the legal issues it is just safer.

Cars F T W!
