170 for 1 TB HD?

Threads like this make me feel like I have superior buying skillz.

Bought a 2TB Caviar Black for £116 back in the day which looked extortionate at the time because 2TB Samsungs were £54 each.

Yeah I read that thread about price increases but that's taking the P a little. Good job I got a new external HD for backup before these increases hit. 170...wow

Check out consumer retail outlets.

They haven't bumped their prices up. I seen external 1TB hard drives for £50 in a mass-owned commercial retailer the other day, the prices ain't changed.

What's to gloat about?

I have over a dozen HDD's that I bought for less than half the price they are now.

It doesn't give me superior buying skills or anything to gloat about.

It was just the price that they were at the time.

Its crazy alright, and buy the sounds of it its not gonna get better for a few months.
I know some of you guys are heavy users but I think instead of panicking we're better off waiting, just delete some of that pr0n you don't need.

hehe can't agree more with that statement. :D

I've just had a 1TB Samsung F3 die on me but no way am I buying a replace or for that matter any extra hard drive storage until prices settle back down!

I'm in the process of re-jigging all my storage drives to last me at least another 6 months :)
