Haven't even read them yet, but only by looking at the sites' names I think that it would be fair to say that those reviews are extremely biased for the Lumia 800. Not saying that other reviews aren't biased though, especially the engadget-one that I read yesterday(I see a hinch of apple-fanboyism on that site, the link that was supposed to direct to the review on their homepage directed to somewhere completely elsewhere, it wasn't part of their top-stories, and the whole "review" was made up of a comparison between the Lumia and HTC Titan=good job engadget?)

This thread is amazing... Just goes to show that either the advertising or just how much power the Nokia name has. Other windows phone threads barely get past two pages (such as the HTC releases) yet this one, hardly any different, looks like it will actually rival few android phones for length.
Now the question is.. Why? Marketing? Brand name? Whatever it is in an android bias forum its pretty impressive. Just goes to show there probably wasnt anything wrong with WinPho, just needed the right kick...

There's been a fair amount of interest since mango released and how many w7p have been released since mango?
And of course nostalgia and people generally like Nokia hardware. Just look at the other Nokia threads.
So it's a combination. The public will be swayed more by the advertisement, but don't think that's a huge factor on this forum.

no one was fully dedicated to windows phone except nokia thats why nokia is different
Both the radar and titan that I mentioned. That thread gandered two pages last time I looked. This is on 14 for just for one phone.
But that's not necessarily relevant to this thread though.
Titan has only just been released or is about to be released and is a specialised phone. With a huge screen which doesn't interest most people.
As I said look at n9 and other Nokia threads. Nokia is well like for hardware but until now has been let down by OS. By contrast HTC doesn't have anywhere near the same appreciation level.
And of course there's the looks that are far better than any other phone.

compared to a iPhone 4 which i have been using for the past year , it is a good phone coming from Nokia , safe to say Nokia is back in the game now.

Lustral, how do you find the screen, coming from iphone? and can you comment on battery performance? thanks.
the screen is alright , not as good as the iphone in terms of resolution , however it is usable still on full size webpages etc etc , the colours seen sharper and the clear black is just nice on the phone.
battery life i would say it is about the same as the iphone , i can just about manage a day if im lucky with it, but its only on its second full charge, im sure it will get better.
Wel either way I think its been a very good as Nokia do seem to have gathered that interest that windows phone has been missing.
